General Description / Primary Purpose:

The Director of Graduate School Engagement, Outreach & Support, under the direction of the Dean of the Graduate School serves as the primary staff member over graduate engagement, outreach and support.

Job Function:
  • Serve as advisor to the Graduate School Dean on Graduate School Engagement, outreach and support services providing proposals, recommendations and reports as needed.
  • Supervise Graduate School staff in the implementation of marketing, outreach and engagement efforts.
  • Strategize, oversee, and assess the Graduate School’s marketing and recruitment efforts both internally and externally including marketing materials and events, social media, and collaboration with university and community partners.
  • Assist academic programs in the development of new graduate programs to grow graduate enrollment and meet local industry needs, including express and accelerated programs linking undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
  • Assist with developing community and industry partnerships to enhance the Graduate School including collaboration with Industry Engagement and University Development, and identifying opportunities for internships, jobs, funding, tuition reimbursement, etc.
  • Assist academic programs in efforts to identify and obtain funding for graduate student training, development, and fellowships.
  • Promote graduate student research through collaborating with the Office of Undergraduate Research and planning and participation in campus and professional research events.
  • Support Graduate Program Directors, faculty, and staff in matters related to Graduate School engagement, outreach and support.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation and assessment of Graduate student engagement opportunities.
  • Serve as liaison between the Graduate School and other university administrative offices, such as Enrollment Services, college advising units, and Marketing and Communications.
  • Represent the Graduate School on various UNF committees such as the Distance Learning Committee, Graduate School Advisory Board, and the Graduate Council.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Function as a hiring officer for Graduate School personnel.

Required Qualifications:

This position requires either (a) Master’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and six years of experience directly related to the job functions; (b) Bachelor’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and eight years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 12 years of direct experience.
