The Director of Operations reports to the Senior Vice President of Operations and is responsible for driving performance metrics to align with company goals; including but not limited to, P&L, labor model, front end metrics, back end metrics, and overall operations of our practices. This role will be creating process improvements and be responsible for partnering with healthcare practices to drive performance and results through a data driven approach in a multi-practice physician healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, and be able to adapt to change quickly. This role requires being in the Arlington, Virginia office once a week.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborates and supports healthcare practice teams by identifying opportunities to innovate workflow, promote process improvement, and support ongoing operational improvement.
- Drives excellence in business and financial operations through data analysis and strategic planning.
- Drives performance through an understanding of labor models, practice management financials, patient and customer service metrics, operational backend processes, and general overall operations and administration.
- Optimizes partnerships with practice managers and physicians to identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, and to drive growth.
- Implements and tracks KPIs, utilizing technology to improve workflow, creating practice reporting standards, and having an in-depth understanding of the practice P&L.
- Works closely with Clinical Operations to ensure seamless support of clinical workflow, clinical innovations, and quality initiatives.
- Works as an effective team player who contributes valuable ideas and feedback and can be counted on to meet commitments, while providing clear direction to achieve goals, creating an environment that fosters team commitment and practice engagement.
- Builds a high performing team, and effective communication channels, in a matrixed environment with high morale, and addresses performance issues quickly and decisively.
- Communicate openly and effectively, internally and externally, with a wide variety of individuals to ensure that their needs are being met and that the reputation of the company is enhanced, while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in the healthcare field required
- Experience with P&Ls and understanding drivers behind line items
- Multi-site healthcare experience preferred
- Experience with Athena's full product suite preferred
- Working knowledge of healthcare operations at the practice level to include labor model, scheduling, patient workflow, RCM
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment and maintain a positive attitude.
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication that is clear, well-organized, and demonstrates an understanding of audience needs.
