Position: Director of Operations

Reports To: CEO

Direct Reports: General Manager, Executive Chef, and HR Department

Status: Full Time, Exempt

Salary: $135k-$150k

The Director of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day company operations
• Define and implement operations strategy, structure, and processes
• Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems
• Collaborate with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization's goals and objectives
• Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials
• Lead business formation and proper benefits, payroll and accounting set up and management
• Weekly P&L reviews with operating teams
• Develop best practices for a budget lead operation
• Point of contact for 3rd party consultants
• Lead audit process for benefits and onboarding documents
• Ensure training and oversight in compliance with NYS and DOL guidelines
• Recruiting for management level positions
• Performance tracking and support for management
• Oversight of business leaders, Chefs and General Managers
• Business development, proper set up of management and payroll company
• Maintain professional and positive communication with all employees
• Adhere to company procedures

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Associate or bachelors degree. Business Management degree desirable
• 10+ years previous service or supervisory experience at an operation with similar culinary, service, guest relation and operational standards
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office), and POS systems
• Considerable knowledge of mathematical calculations and budgetary analysis capabilities required
• Bilingual is a plus

• Aptitude to apply creative solutions to practical problems and situations where limited standardization exists
• Capable of working independently and in a team environment; balances team and individual responsibilities
• The ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company philosophy, policies, and applicable laws
• Considerable knowledge of mathematical calculations and budgetary analysis capabilities required
• Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour, and labor relations

Physical Demands:

• Involves standing most of the time, as well as climbing stairs repeatedly.
• Involves repeated reaching with arms and hands, carrying objects less than 20 lbs. and bending and stooping.
• May include possible lifting and moving objects of 40lbs or more.
