WSP is currently initiating a search for aDirector of Operationsfor our Mobility Operations organization, conducting operational services for state and local governments across the US. Office location is negotiable but preferred in the Eastern US. Oversee project execution and operational performance in tolling, traffic management, transit, airport operations projects with our Mobility Ops Development Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
- Be required to provide strong leadership, agility, flexibility, and initiative, partnering with client agencies (clients) and stakeholders to implement these solutions for efficient and effective traffic operations.
- Be the primary liaison between the client's Project Director and the WSP project team.
- Be able to communicate effectively and bring a depth of knowledge that shall guide clients not only to maintain, but also to improve current practices and systems.
- Ensuring that our team has reliability and redundancy inside the deployed program team
- Responsible for providing a systematic approach that ties together actions and tasks accomplished within the project to an auditable monthly update.
- Conduct periodic meetings, or as needed, with the client to review how the project accomplishments are being invoiced and progress is communicated.
- Overseeing hiring, training, performance management, and project quality assurance and control.
- Ensuring all plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are updated as required.
- Overseeing the development of all event management response plans and special events plans.
- Scheduling meetings with client staff, WSP management, and partnering agencies.
- Scheduling, developing agendas for, and running the client's contract project status meetings.
- Overseeing and developing the following deliverables through initial project start-up and throughout the life of the project: Reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually), Staffing plan, Quality assurance plan, SOP's, Agendas, meeting minutes, and meeting handouts, Develop a project schedule for key tasks and deliverables.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the transportation/toll collection/transit/traffic/mobility field; with 5 years of Project Management experience in operations/customer service/emergency operations with any of the following groups/sectors: Military, Transportation, Fire, Police, EMS, 911 OR
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing intricate ideas effectively and professionally.
- Experience in writing and revising scope and project plans and memos
- Experience in developing procedures and protocols (SOPs and/or SOGs) and operating managing to meet KPI and SLA
- Experience in client relationships.
- Experience in Staff Training
- Experience in managing projects and tasks from inception to completion and close out
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
- PMP preferred (or plan to obtain within 2 years), and commensurate experience in managing multi million dollar operations
