Job Title: Director of Nursing (DON)

Location: Gardendale, AL 35071

Pay Rate: $60 to $65 per hour for local hires; $70 to $75 per hour for travelers

Shifts: Morning (8am to 4:30p)

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team. As the DON, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Nursing care delivery, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the nursing department, promoting a culture of excellence, professionalism, and collaboration.
• Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and retention of Nursing staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels and competencies to meet patient care needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and evidence-based practices.
• Monitor and evaluate nursing care delivery systems, processes, and outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, medical staff, administration, and other departments to facilitate communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes, adhering to legal and ethical standards of practice.
• Participate in budget planning and management, resource allocation, and revenue generation activities to support the financial viability of the nursing department.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development among nursing staff, promoting opportunities for skill enhancement and career advancement.
• Demonstrate leadership in crisis management, conflict resolution, and decision-making, maintaining composure and professionalism in challenging situations.

Requirements:

• Valid RN license in AL and Compact license, with a minimum of [+1] years of Nursing experience.
• Previous experience in a nursing leadership role, such as Nurse Manager or Assistant Director of Nursing, preferred.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge, leadership skills, and understanding of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
