Job Description
A Professional Membership Association in downtown Chicago is seeking a Director of Membership to oversee its membership operations. Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Membership will play a crucial role in growing and retaining members by enhancing member engagement and fostering a vibrant community of members and constituents.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive membership growth and retention strategy.
- Lead strategies and programs to strengthen member engagement and create a roadmap for membership growth and retention.
- Identify and analyze industry trends, member feedback, and competitive landscapes to continuously improve membership offerings in support of strategic initiatives.
- Oversee the management of Membership data, any reporting and overall membership dues processing. Resolve any issues as necessary.
- Work with other chapters and liaise with their leadership as needed.
- Develop, implement, and manage a member benefit portfolio.
- Collaborate with other leaders in the organization and manage the membership team to support company membership initiatives.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business management or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of Membership management experience preferably some within an association
- Minimum 3 years of management experience in a leadership/supervisor capacity preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and ability to work well with others
- Ability to solve problems, be analytical and determine root cause of issues
- Good organizational skills, time management abilities to meet any work/project deadlines
- Experience with an AMS (Association Management Software) or with databases
