Director Of Membership

A Professional Membership Association in downtown Chicago is seeking a Director of Membership to oversee its membership operations. Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Membership will play a crucial role in growing and retaining members by enhancing member engagement and fostering a vibrant community of members and constituents.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive membership growth and retention strategy.
• Lead strategies and programs to strengthen member engagement and create a roadmap for membership growth and retention.
• Identify and analyze industry trends, member feedback, and competitive landscapes to continuously improve membership offerings in support of strategic initiatives.
• Oversee the management of Membership data, any reporting and overall membership dues processing. Resolve any issues as necessary.
• Work with other chapters and liaise with their leadership as needed.
• Develop, implement, and manage a member benefit portfolio.
• Collaborate with other leaders in the organization and manage the membership team to support company membership initiatives.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business management or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of Membership management experience preferably some within an association
• Minimum 3 years of management experience in a leadership/supervisor capacity preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and ability to work well with others
• Ability to solve problems, be analytical and determine root cause of issues
• Good organizational skills, time management abilities to meet any work/project deadlines
• Experience with an AMS (Association Management Software) or with databases
