General Description:
Under the general direction of the Chief Operation Officer, the Director of Marketing is responsible for the creation, execution, and oversight of all marketing activities of the credit union. This position will oversee marketing plans, strategies, campaigns, programs, communications, and department workflow to meet business objectives.
Illustrative Duties:
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan to meet BFCU goals and initiatives. Assess plan success based on corporate performance.
2. Execute overall brand strategy for the organization, taking direction from directors and senior management.
3. Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the Marketing Department. Collaborate with department members and stakeholders to create strategies.
4. Manage internal and external marketing communications. Ensure that employees are aware and knowledgeable of Marketing initiatives, and that communication to members and target markets is relevant and consistent with the credit union’s brand.
5. Manage the credit union website, social media, and advertising. Ensure messaging and functionality are both effective and compliant. Incorporate creativity and innovation into related messaging.
6. Work with credit union leadership to allocate marketing efforts as need to support projects and initiatives. Incorporate strategies to increase members, as well as deep existing relationships.
7. Identify data needs for the department, and ensure that analytics and reporting are integrated into department decision making and assessment of results.
8. Ensure appropriate coverage for external events for which the credit union participates or supports. Coordinate associated opportunities public relations communications.
9. Monitor the external environment for financial institutions. Assess competitors, financial products, industry trends, and new technologies to identify opportunities.
10. Oversee and manage marketing vendors and third-party relationships.
11. Ensure consistent and optimal branding across the organization. In conjunction with Member Service management, ensure branch signage, collateral, communications, etc. are up to date and consistent with standards.
12. Stay up to date on banking regulation and internal credit union policies. Ensure overall compliance for all marketing programs.
13. Create marketing reports and presentations for executive leaders and board members.
14. All other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements:
1. A Bachelors Degree in an applicable field, or equivalent work experience.
2. Managerial experience in a financial institution.
3. A proven history of developing and executing marketing strategy.
4. Ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
5. Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and drive to meet deadlines.
6. Ability to lead marketing initiatives, while gaining organization-wide buy-in when necessary.
7. Excellent creative, verbal, and written communication skills.
