SUMMARY:The Senior Director of Advancement will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the organization's strategic initiatives related to marketing, fundraising, community outreach, prevention, and alumni relations. This key leadership position reports directly to the Senior Director of Operations and is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive advancement strategies to enhance the organization's impact and sustainability.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Leadership:
- Develop, communicate, and execute a clear vision for the advancement team in alignment with the organization's strategic plan.
- Collaborate with other department heads to ensure integration and coherence across all organizational functions.
- Regularly assess and adjust the advancement strategy based on internal and external factors to maximize impact.
Fundraising and Development:
- Design and implement targeted fundraising campaigns, leveraging data analytics and donor segmentation strategies.
- Cultivate and steward major donors, ensuring personalized engagement and a strong donor pipeline.
- Explore and pursue innovative fundraising opportunities, such as crowdfunding, impact investing, and partnerships with philanthropic organizations.
Marketing and Communications:
- Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure a consistent and engaging online and offline presence.
- Utilize social media, email marketing, and traditional media channels to amplify the organization's message and impact.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of marketing and communication efforts, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
- Alumni Relations:
- Implement a comprehensive alumni engagement plan, including networking events, newsletters, and online platforms.
- Establish a mentorship program that connects alumni with current program participants to provide guidance and support.
- Identify and establish opportunities for alumni to contribute to fundraising initiatives and advocacy efforts.
Community Outreach & Prevention:
- Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders, local businesses, and other stakeholders to enhance the organization's community presence.
- Collaborate with other department heads to ensure that outreach efforts are aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
- Conduct needs assessments and collaborate with experts to design evidence-based prevention programs that address the community's unique challenges.
- Oversee the implementation of prevention initiatives, ensuring fidelity to program goals and continuous improvement through evaluation.
- Develop partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations to expand the reach and impact of prevention programs.
- Must be able to flexibly modify schedule to accommodate needs that pertain to Gosnold events.
- Periodic travel required.
- Must be comfortable with agency clientele and Alumni and demonstrate a willingness to learn about behavioral health and substance use disorders.
- Must serve as accountable, responsible, and reputable proxy for Gosnold organization and mission at Gosnold events.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job. - Education: Bachelors Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, and/or related field required, Masters Degree preferred.
- Experience: Proven track record of success in fundraising, marketing, and community engagement. Minimum of 10 years of fundraising and marketing experience, minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in a nonprofit organization. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute plans effectively.
