Director of Maintenance

Director of Maintenance in a Skilled Nursing Facility just outside Boston, Belmont/Cambridge area.

Responsibilities for the Director of Maintenance include:

• Demonstrates ability to organize, prioritize, and communicate needs to staff, administration, and regulatory inspectors.
• Demonstrates ability to maintain all essential mechanical, electrical, and patient care equipment in safe operating condition.
• Utilizes knowledge to monitor and assess the quality of work being performed by outside vendors. Works collaboratively with vendors and develops good report and communication.
• Applies knowledge of building and safety codes to help develop and enforce center maintenance procedures.
• Participates in department budget process and manages departmental budget, orders supplies and tracks inventory. Submits spend down sheet to Administrator weekly.
• Applies knowledge of Infection Control, Fire, Protective Equipment and Disaster policies.
• Ensures that staff is trained in all the safe usage of equipment and chemicals, based on OSHA standards of safety.
• Life Safety Champion for the facility! Ensures state and federal Life Safety regulations and standards are maintained throughout the center.
• Maintains all scheduled equipment tests and maintenance to ensure the protection of residents and property.
• Maintains operational logs, including water temperatures and generator tests, and notifies Administrator immediately of irregularities.
• Daily monitors grounds and facility to ensure lighting, repair needs, safety issues, and ground maintenance are prioritized.
• Respond to emergency maintenance needs promptly at any hour of the day.
• Utilizes the TELS system to manage facility maintenance efforts.
• Customer service orientated, project management skills, and ability to work autonomously with efficiency and all a must.
