We serve the students of Houston, Texas, the 4th largest city across the United States. There are over 20 public-school districts and other great public charter school options, like KIPP Texas-Houston and IDEA Public Schools, within Houston’s city limits serving our increasing population. THE ROLE
- Collaborating with the Leadership Development team to set the strategic direction of a Leadership Development strategy for YES Prep campuses;
- Serving as a primary driver of the Leading Excellence Program – a program for onboarding new campus directors and Assistant Principals - including leadership curriculum design, experience creation, communication, and coaching of leaders;
- Observe and coach campus leaders on site in order to drive results for students;
- Engaging in career conversations and recruitment of leaders internally and externally;
- Supporting opportunities to increase overall cultural competence of the organization through diversity and equity professional learning;
- Creating systems to monitor the overall growth of talent within our existing programs and adjust programming accordingly;
- Serving as an ambassador of YES Prep by presenting and participating in external opportunities to showcase the work we are doing within talent;
- Continuously finding opportunities to innovate around talent development opportunities for YES Prep staff;
- Additional duties as assigned.
THE PERSON
THE MUST HAVES
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- 2-3 years of experience in K-12 school leadership, preferably at the Assistant Principal level or higher
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience coaching leaders
- Project management experience
- Experience facilitating adult learning
- Training in or knowledge of Leadership Development and management topics
- Training in or personal learning in issues of diversity, equity, or cultural competence
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives at once

THE PERKS
- Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
- Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
Retirement Plans – Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Texas and a 457b Retirement Plan.
- Paid Time Off – Employees working 20+ hours a week receive 15 days of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the Academic Calendar.
Paid Leave Programming – In the event you need to be out due to medical needs (including maternity and paternity leave), YES Prep offers paid leave, paid out at 100%, based on eligibility and tenure.
