the job:

The Director of Integrated Media is an integral part of the amika global consumer engagement team, leading the North America 360 paid media, sampling, and partnerships strategy and execution while acting as the subject matter expert and providing recommendations and frameworks to the international teams to ensure global consistency. This person must be highly strategic + analytical – able to create + implement brand-led upper-funnel media strategies – with a test + learn mindset to continue to push our media strategies forward. In addition to overseeing 360 upper funnel media (including but not limited to digital/social, OOH, audio, CTV), this person will also partner with Ecomm to support performance marketing needs and partner with the Trade Marketing team on retailer co-op media strategy.

This person must be a champion of creative storytelling across the consumer journey to reach and drive our target consumers down the funnel from awareness to conversion more efficiently. In addition to partnering closely with Ecomm and Trade Marketing, this role will work closely with amika's Influencer Marketing, Creative, and Sales teams. Our ideal candidate has a consumer-centric mindset, staying current on what and where our target consumer is, and always seeking innovative opportunities to ensure amika is top of mind. This person must be highly adaptable and champion a one-team mindset. The Director of Integrated Media is responsible for media and efficiency KPIs: CPM, impressions, CTR, CPC, and ROAS; as well as contributing to site traffic and new DTC customers, brand search interest, customers sampled, and email lead gen.

salary: $125,000 - $160,000

what you'll do:

Global Paid Media Strategy + NOAM Execution

  • Develop amika's overarching NOAM paid media strategy to drive awareness and traffic while supporting key business priorities and driving strategic alignment with senior management stakeholders
  • Provide strategic recommendations to international teams and ensure they are following global guidance for digital media. Contribute to global GTM toolkits and develop consistent media reporting templates and timelines
  • Act as the main point of contact with digital media agencies; work closely with agency and media partners to identify opportunities for alpha and beta tests
  • Ensure Roblox paid strategies are integrated into broader 360 media strategy. Stay up to date on related new media opportunities (within Web 3.0/Roblox) and identify media, measurement + engagement opportunities to contribute to business goals and success.
  • Develop a learning agenda of testable hypotheses to improve the efficiency of ad spend and identify/ideate on high-potential creative assets. Ensure each campaign is approached with a rigorous test and learn mindset (creative + media test and learns)
  • Champion impactful paid media storytelling across the consumer journey in partnership with cross-functional teams (Brand, Creative, Social, and PR/Influencer), ideating new creative concepts that resonate with the customer and drive clicks and conversions
  • Work closely with the Ecomm team to ensure DTC promotions and events are supported via paid media
  • As needed, develop new processes with the Creative team to ensure ads follow best practices and iterate based on past learnings
  • Partner and ideate with the amika Trade Marketing and Creative teams to support retailer paid media needs
  • Partner closely with the Influencer Marketing team to ensure creator content meets paid media needs as necessary
  • Support direct report in paid media execution and agency + budget/invoicing management


Online + Offline Paid Customer Acquisition

  • Support the Senior Director in the development of holistic 360 paid customer awareness and acquisition strategy and tactics encompassing 360 Integrated Media – paid social, OOH, mailers, brand partnerships, Web 3.0, etc...
  • Develop and implement sampling strategies and act as the main point of contact with partners (SoPost, Allure, etc.) and ensure inventory availability
  • Identify strategic 360 brand partners to support key launches and/or core re-support campaigns. Partner with cross-functional teams, including social, influencer/pr, ecomm, and creative, to execute programming based on strategy (emails, landing pages, social content, banners, etc.)


Performance Media + Ecommerce

  • Support the Ecommerce and Marketing Analytics teams with search agency management and strategic recommendations to ensure upper and lower funnel media alignment
  • Support the Amazon team with content needs and media recommendations, ensuring alignment between DTC and Amazon during key promotional periods
  • Partner with the E-comm and Marketing Analytics teams to develop, implement, and continuously validate robust measurement/attribution approaches. Leverage CRM insights to bridge the gap between email (including flows campaigns) and media and help the CE team better understand the amika consumer


Budget

  • In partnership with the Senior Director, CE, manage all NOAM digital marketing financial and budget needs. Ensure budget aligns with the brand strategy and business goals.
  • Prepare and own the NOAM upper-funnel advertising and paid sampling budget, setting KPIs and ROAS targets for each channel
  • Prepare annual budget presentations for the upcoming year along with the corresponding strategy to present to leadership


Reporting and Presentations

  • Oversee monthly and ad hoc reporting and presentations for any departmental or executive needs. Partner with Ecomm to better contextualize media reports with business goals
  • Implement ways to regularly share media creative learnings and actionable insights with the Creative team and implement these learnings into future briefs
  • Regularly share paid media results within the context of loveamika.com and/or retail business goals to cross-functional partners and senior leadership
  • Develop a global paid reporting process and timelines


Team Management & Development

  • Provide strong leadership to the junior team member (Associate) and oversee the team's daily projects and responsibilities
  • Drive strong career pathing and development of direct report; ability to lead + empower a strong-performing team


must-haves:

  • BA, BS or equivalent in marketing, advertising preferred
  • 8-10 years experience
  • Strategic media planning skills with a 360 mindset – previous experience at a media agency a plus
  • Highly analytical + data insights-driven with an ability to interpret and clearly articulate media KPI results, learnings, and business recommendations
  • Excellent written + verbal communication skills, ability to present to senior leadership + cross-functional + external partners
  • Expertise in budgeting + forecasting and steering key channel decisions cross-functionally
  • Proven track record of unlocking value from external and internal partners + agencies
  • Highly with Meta Business Suite, TikTok Ads Manager, GA4
  • Familiar with content best practices on various social media platforms (particularly TikTok + Instagram)
  • Highly organized, fast learner, open to receiving feedback
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude + passion for all things beauty
