FLSA Status: Salary Exempt

Reports To: Vice President of Digital Technology

Location: The Woodlands, Texas

Amount of Travel Required: 10 15%

Work Schedule: 8 am 5 pm M-F

Positions Supervised: All IT Department Positions

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Information Technology is responsible for the continued development, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive Information Technology (IT) strategy. The Director of Information Technology works to align organizational vision with current and future technology opportunities and is responsible for partnering with stakeholders, senior, and executive leadership teams across multiple independent companies under BEUSA management. This role leads overall IT team direction and execution consistent with short and long-term business strategies, growth plans, synergies, and opportunities for enterprise process and scale. They are responsible for IT-related organizational risk management and cybersecurity strategies, enterprise architecture and business-critical systems. The Director of Information Technology fosters a strong Digital Culture and partners with internal and external stakeholders in their leadership of IT functions to deliver operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.")

  • A strong candidate should view the role of Information Technology as that of a high-value business partner with the organization focused on deeply understanding how our business operates and how technology can be leveraged strategically to drive value and deliver results.
  • Partners with all internal and external stakeholders to align strategic business needs with technology and their supporting processes.
  • Responsible for the overall evaluation of current and future technologies as an enabler and driver of our organization.
  • Responsible for the design, implementation and management of critical technology systems such as ERP, CRM, MRP and CLM (not exhaustive) with ability to lead team to execute on a wide range of business objectives and requirements within these and other platforms.
    • Significant leadership experience throughout one or more successful ERP implementations is essential.
  • Responsible for developing, articulating, and executing an overall Information Technology vision that aligns individual companies, and positions the organization to leverage Digital as a significant component of our culture and competitive advantage.
  • Identifies appropriate technology types to meet current and future company objectives
    • Implements, supports, and owns those technologies.
  • Leads multiple IT teams with various focuses such as IT Infrastructure across North America, including highly transitory remote locations, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Applications, Architecture, and Development.
  • Drives synergies and process throughout IT team, broader Digital Technology department, and entire multi-business organization.
  • Leads due diligence activities across systems, processes, and networks and able to lead team in evaluation/onboarding/integration of new technologies.
  • Manages relationships with key technology vendors, partners, contractors, and customers.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors IT systems, policies and associated controls, hardware tracking, and regulatory and licensing compliance.
    • Ensures compliance with government regulations that apply to systems operations.
    • Leads organization in development and routine audit of Information Technology Policies.
  • Responsible for development, implementation, and management of all cyber-security related policies, technologies, and processes.
  • Responsible for company IT hardware, software and corporate applications and platforms.
  • Manages institutional risks around data loss prevention, cyber-security, network integrity, incident response, identity and access management.
  • Responsible for ensuring that IT and network infrastructure adequately support company’s current and future needs.
  • Manages and supports all aspects of core Information Technology services, infrastructure, applications, and architecture.
    • Responsible for evaluation and maintenance of technology standards (inclusive of but not limited to networking, hardware, software, and all associated utilization).
  • Understands often complex business requirements and effectively delivers upon them.
  • Proactively works to foster and promote an organizational Digital Culture that supports an integrated technical environment, business scale, and empowerment of the larger organization to make strategic decisions supported through Information Technology functions.
  • Stays abreast of current and latest Information Technology developments and global events.
  • Educate current and potential stakeholders on BEUSA technology.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Will be required to engage regularly with various technology vendors and partners.
  • Will be required to travel to various company work-locations, as well as for discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Predictable in-person attendance at corporate office in The Woodlands, Texas
  • Successfully passes background check, pre-employment drug screening, an any pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s)
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related field strongly preferred
  • Generally, 10+ years’ working experience in Information Technology role
    • Prior experience in a supervisory/management position within a digital or IT organization required
  • Significant relevant work experience leading Digital or IT teams for a mid-sized company or larger
  • Significant relevant work experience leading Digital or IT teams for a well-diversified or multi-company organization strongly preferred

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES

  • Very strong leadership skills role will be responsible for leading across individual team functions, managers, and staff, as well as leading the overall organization in a comprehensive highly aligned Information Technology strategy.
  • Successful track record of organizational leadership in Information Technology functions.
  • Significant experience and successful track record in leading multiple teams.
  • Experience leading and managing large IT initiatives and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies.
    • Must have ability to successfully lead a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Leadership experience in one or more successful ERP implementations is essential:
    • Leading activities such as but not limited tobusiness process mapping and requirements, system selection, implementation partner selection, technical implementation, project management, budget management.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer systems, cyber-security, network and systems administrations, databases and data storage systems, applications, and organizational enterprise architecture.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to explain complex technical principles accurately and effectively to stakeholders and executive management.
  • Excellent ability to conceptualize long-term business goals and develop plans to accomplish.
  • Outstanding managerial, leadership, and personnel development skills.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Information Technology and IT systems.
  • Strategic and creative thinker with a passion for improving the business through Information Technology functions.

  • Advancement opportunities are dependent on many things. This is a highly strategic leadership position and as such, the establishment, delivery, and execution of a comprehensive long-term Information Technology vision and strategy is essential. The Director of Information Technology must consistently display outstanding team and organizational leadership capabilities, must be an excellent communicator, and have a strong sense for innovation taking an active and integral role partnering with the organization to drive the business forward through technology functions. They must further demonstrate the capacity to set clear and high-impact goals, establish KPI’s, design employee activities, roles and scope in a way that achieves those goals, and execute consistently.

The Director of IT works indoors in an office setting, primarily sitting for extended periods of time at a desk station, keyboarding and using repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and or fingers. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus while reading and staring at computer monitor. They will also need to speak clearly and audibly, as well as have the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and /or other sounds (e.g., building alarms) deriving from in person speech, telephone, or other remote speech. No adverse environmental conditions are expected. While in the office, the Director of IT may be called upon to stand, kneel, push, pull, reach overhead, stoop, crouch, climb, and lift; therefore, the Director of IT should be able to lift 25 lbs. independently.

Work hours will, at times and within reason, include early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity and consistent with the reality that part of our organization operates 24/7 365 days a year.
