Director of IT
Job Summary:
The Director IT is primarily responsible for the efficient and effective management of comprehensive IT programs and services and oversees the entire company's IT function. Oversees the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and security of the company's information systems and processes, including but not limited to, ERP, Dynamics NAV, Mobile Applications, public digital properties, ETL, and AWS. The Director of IT will ensure an effective and efficient delivery of administrative and technical support relating to IT activities following the organization's philosophy and policies on data security and information services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for IT systems in alignment with the organization's overall goals and objectives
- Identify emerging technologies and trends to ensure the organization's IT systems remain cutting-edge and competitive
- Collaborate with other department leaders to define IT investment priorities and create a roadmap for technology initiatives, outlining systems support for both clients and employees
- Set a vision for how technology services will be used in the organization to support employees and clients
- Oversee the day-to-day operations that include but are not limited to: IT systems functionality and performance and oversee IT change management efforts
- Establish, evaluate, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data security, compliance, and disaster recovery
- Oversees engineering team and helps coordinate their responsibilities with the needs of the organization.
- Implement and maintain robust IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and security systems
- Identify areas of opportunity, and implement measures to optimize efficiency and scalability
- Monitor and manage budget by reviewing all tools and resources to determine the best resources based on stakeholder and the organization's needs
- Ensure an effective and consistent implementation of IT Service Desk, Incident and Problem Management
- Develop and implement data architecture strategies that prioritize data security, analytics, and visualization
- Establish data governance policies and procedures to maintain data integrity, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, recommend data visualization tools and techniques to translate the data into meaningful and actionable visualizations to enable effective decision-making
- Create, train stakeholders, and optimize data models, schemas, and storage solutions for efficient data management and retrieval
- Lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement by providing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements to ensure effective IT service delivery
- Develop and implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect the organization, employee, and client data from potential threats and breaches
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA and HITRUST standards and works in partnership with the compliance department to assist in customer and vendor assessments, as well as audits. Drive the HITRUST Re-Certification process
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, data privacy laws, and cybersecurity standards. Maintain and manage framework for logical access governance
- Establish effective risk management strategies and disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Possess a strong engineering background with first principles thinking.
- Experience in a senior leadership role overseeing IT systems - Required
- Experience in a senior leadership role overseeing Engineering, Information Services, Infrastructure, and Operations including budget management - Preferred
- Experience working with outsourced development teams
- Thorough understanding of IS policies and procedures.
- 10 years working in the technology industry and 7 years of experience in a manager role or equivalent
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred Healthcare industry experience a plus
