DEPARMENT/SITE:Human Resources - Central Office
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Five years of professional experience in Human Resources, risk management, insurance program administration, workers' compensation insurance or related field.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent or Designee
SUPERVISES: HR Coordinator and Attendance/Payroll Benefits
JOB GOAL: Ensure the effective operation of the Human Resources office.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Personnel:
- Post notification of vacancies.
- Maintain personnel file on each employee.
- Responsible for gathering all documentation prior to board meeting for personnel agenda.
- Prepare and submit all personnel reports for local, state and federal agencies.
- Ensure licensure of certified personnel.
- Complete employment verifications.
- Complete background checks as required by law and district policy for all new employees.
- Assist in the development and change of personnel procedures and policies.
- Represent the district in employee disciplinary actions, grievance resolutions and hearings.
- Respond to unemployment claims and appeals.
- Report unemployment compensation yearly.
- Serve as MSIS Personnel Coordinator - Manage the data entry to the Mississippi Student Information System (MSIS) for personnel reporting.
- Maintain and manage E-Verify and I-9 forms to ensure the identity and employment eligibility of all persons hired as required by Homeland Security.
- Assist with the HRIS to ensure excellence in recordkeeping and staffing management.
- Manage and review workers' compensation claims, from collecting reporting forms, coordinating information with medical providers, injured worker, and carrier to ensure proper filing and closure of claims in a timely manner.
- Acts as a liaison for the employee, physician, and the insurance carrier.
- Represents the district at all hearings.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of School District's personnel.
