The Director of Human Resources (HR) provides HR leadership for both the corporate office and all manufacturing plants. Drives companywide recruiting, onboarding, training, retention, benefits, and adherence to the company’s HRIS. Develop and implement strategic solutions that impact business objectives. Takes the lead on the Company’s HR agenda: recruiting, employee engagement, labor relations stability, workforce relationships, organizational training and development, and succession planning.
Responsibilities:
- Advise, influence, and guide all levels of company leadership on the HR implications of business strategies and all aspects of people management and leadership.
- Challenge the status quo driving results-oriented decision-making.
- Partner with HR colleagues and company leadership in organizational assessment and diagnosis that translates business strategies into actions delivering results and improving organizational strengths.
- Coach and develop direct reports to drive engagement, succession planning, and career development.
- Identifies trend analysis, new regulations, and social developments partnering with leadership to create and implement policies to address challenges (skill gaps, turnover, utilization, performance improvement/management, organization design and restructuring, etc.).
- Partner with operations leadership on employee utilization, organization and business strategy, talent management and development, employee engagement, and organizational capability
- Partner with hiring managers to provide strategic staffing and recruitment consultation.
- Develops, maintains, and communicates key HR metrics and scorecards that define organizational performance and stability. Reinforce corporate strategies for alignment with objectives that impact the high-level business goals.
- Ensures performance management systems are being followed through intervention, coaching, and accountability.
- Roll out and execute ongoing Talent Programs on management performance, organization, talent assessment, engagement, etc.
- Lead Labor Relations initiatives, in conjunction with Legal counsel, including planning, preparing, and representing the company in contract negotiations, handling grievances, arbitrations, and collective bargaining processes while ensuring that all pertinent parties are informed of changes and/or issues as they arise.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- BS/BA in Human Resources management, business administration, organizational leadership, industrial psychology, or relevant field
- SHRM-CP accreditation
- Experience in a heavy manufacturing and labor union environment
- In-depth knowledge of working in a matrix organization
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, statutes, etc., which govern employment policies and practices.
- Thorough understanding and application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices, and standards
- Excellent planning and organization skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; must be an articulate and persuasive communicator.
- Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
- Direction provided, this individual will excel in a limited supervision environment and will operate, drive results, and set priorities independently.
- MS Office proficiency
- ADP WFN HRIS experience
