he Direc or of Food and Beverage is responsible for overseeing all aspec s of he Food and Beverage opera ions a he ho el. his posi ion requires a s ra egic leader wi h a deep unders anding of beverage and culinary rends, excep ional managemen skills, and a commi men o delivering a high-quali y dining experience for ho el gues s and cus omers. he Direc or of F&B will collabora e wi h various depar men s o ensure seamless opera ions and con ribu e o he overall success and repu a ion of he Mandarin Orien al, New York
he Direc or of Food and Beverage is responsible for he overall daily Food and Beverage opera ion, including and no limi ed o MO Lounge and he Gallery, IRD, and Banque s, budge ing, main enance of quali y s andards, Sales & Marke ing, raining, and performance managemen of all colleagues.

Essen ial Du ies and Responsibili ies:

  • Business and S ra egic Planning:
    • Develop and implemen a comprehensive Food and Beverage s ra egy aligned wi h he ho el's overall goals and gues expec a ions.
    • Be crea ive and innova ive wi h he abili y o hink ou side he box and approach all issues wi h a comple ely fresh approach.
    • S ay curren wi h local ho el luxury indus ry rends and marke demands o enhance he ho el's Food and Beverage offerings and main ain a compe i ive edge.
  • Opera ional and Financial Managemen :
    • Oversee he day- o-day opera ions of all Food and Beverage ou le s, including MO Lounge and he Gallery, IRD, and Banque s.
    • Moni or and main ain high s andards of service, cleanliness, and presen a ion in all F&B fron and back of house areas.
    • Develop and manage he annual F&B budge , ensuring financial goals are me while main aining high-quali y s andards.
    • Implemen cos con rol measures and moni or expenses o maximize profi abili y
    • Review and approve depar men al payroll o ensure compliance wi h budge
  • Menu Developmen :
    • Work closely wi h he Execu ive Chef and o her leaders o crea e and regularly upda e innova ive and diverse menus for breakfas , lunch, dinner, and af ernoon ea ha ca er o he preferences and die ary needs of gues s and cus omers, ensuring menus reflec local indus ry and compe i ive marke rends
    • Ensure menu offerings and pricing are compe i ive and reflec he quali y and s andards expec ed of Mandarin Orien al Ho el Group
  • Beverage Program:
    • Cura e a well-balanced and diverse selec ion of beverages including special y cock ails, wines, spiri s, beers, and non-alcoholic offerings
    • Crea e a comprehensive beverage menu ha complemen s and pairs well wi h he food offerings, considering he preferences of he arge audience and he overall heme of he ho el and brand.
    • Develop a wine lis wi h a varie y of op ions, considering differen grape varie als, regions, and s yles
    • Main ain and upda e he beverage menu seasonally o incorpora e new and seasonal ingredien s.
    • Properly rain colleague on beverage and wine offerings and recommenda ions o gues and cus omers
    • Inven ory and cos managemen
  • Sales & Marke ing:
    • Collabora e wi h Sales and Marke ing on special ini ia ives and promo ional even s ensuring maximum rac ion and exposure
    • Promo e menus and cock ail offerings a he ho el o in ernal and ex ernal cus omers
  • Leadership and Developmen :
    • Help Recrui , rain, and manage a skilled and mo iva ed F&B managemen eam

  • Quali y Managemen :
    • Enforce Forbes and LQA s andards and ensure colleagues are performing o hose s andards.
    • Develop quali y improvemen plans based on gues and cus omer feedback, in ernal audi s, LQA and Forbes audi s and o address gues and cus omer feedback
    • Ensure colleagues con inuously review and discuss gues and cus omer feedback and ensure eams is accoun able.
  • Banque and Even Planning and Execu ion:
    • Collabora e wi h he Ca ering eam and coordina e he execu ion of priva e even s, weddings, and o her special occasions, ensuring all even s mee MOHG s andards for service and quali y.
  • Compliance and Safe y:
    • Ensure compliance wi h heal h and safe y regula ions, as well as food handling and sani a ion s andards.
    • Ensure adherence o all liquor liabili y laws and regula ions
    • Manage he FLHSS process as i rela es o Food and Beverage

Minimum Qualifica ions:
  • Minimum 5 years of Food and Beverage in a senior managemen role in luxury hospi ali y is highly preferred, wi h a prove rack record of success
  • Previously experience as Direc or of Food & Beverage is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a Unionized environmen wi h a s rong unders anding of he IWA and local labor laws is highly preferred
  • Mus have s rong unders anding of Food and Beverage financials including cos and par con rols
  • Mus have s rong es ablished vendor rela ionships and abili y o develop new rela ionships as necessary o mee he demands of he opera ion
  • Mus have s rong a en ion o de ail and approach all issues wi h a fresh perspec ive
  • Mus be able o work a flexible schedule including nigh s, weekends, and holidays
  • Abili y o clearly and pleasan ly communica e wi h gues s, cus omers, and all colleagues, bo h in person and on he elephone.
  • Proficien compu er knowledge of Microsof Word, Excel, Power Poin , and POS sys ems.

Salary: $135,000 o $155,000
