Summary of Duties:
Operational Oversight: Exercise responsibility for personnel, fiscal, and management controls within the division, preparing and reviewing records and reports of operational, professional, and research nature.
Leadership in Family Services: Provide strategic leadership in planning, organizing, and coordinating initiatives related to the delivery of Family Services programs.
Compliance Monitoring: Monitor clinic activities and procedures for compliance with rules, regulations, and standards governing department programs.
Workload Prioritization: Prioritize and allocate workload to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity.
Resource Coordination: Coordinate and evaluate the delivery of support services, ensuring alignment with agency objectives and community needs within available resources.
Staff Development: Develop and manage staff schedules, provide leadership, guidance, and support for staff development, and identify, plan, and evaluate training and continuing education.
Reporting and Evaluation: Compose narrative and statistical reports on program progress, tracking, monitoring, and evaluating practices, processes, and program information.
Confidentiality and Reporting: Maintain confidential personal information, report allegations of abuse, neglect, and related incidents following federal and state guidelines.
Policy Formulation: Formulate and implement policy, methods, and procedures for the Family Services division.
Community Engagement: Serve as a liaison with state and federal agencies, participate in local and regional planning operations, and serve on various advisory boards.
Public Representation: May serve as a spokesperson for the Department on Family Services matters at public meetings and in the media per department policy.
Clinical Guidance: Utilize nursing theory, convert it into practice, and provide clinical guidance to applicable nursing personnel.
Education and Training: Provide/schedule orientation and in-service education and training for Family Services staff.
Emergency Preparedness: Institute control measures for health and safety protection during disaster emergencies in cooperation with appropriate agencies.
Additional Responsibilities: Perform other designated duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
1. An Illinois license as a Registered Nurse by examination; and
2. A Bachelor’s Degree with preparation in administration, epidemiology, nursing, or community health; or
3. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a public health nursing program.
