DIRECTOR OF EDUCATOR RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION

Job Summary:

  • Develop, facilitate, and monitor effective systems, based on data and research, to increase the pool of effective teachers in Arizona schools and districts.
  • Occasional in-state and out-of-state travel is required for this position.

Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.

Job Duties:

  • Work with the IHEs, EPPs, LEAs, and stakeholders to develop effective, sustainable, and scalable systems to positively impact the educator, including teachers and administrators, pipeline and educator retention
  • Develop, facilitate, implement, and monitor systems and initiatives that support EDUCATOR RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION, strategies, and other initiatives and strategic partnerships
  • Under the direction of the Deputy Associate Superintendent for Educator Preparation and Certification, supervise Educator Recruitment and Retention staff, including Troops to Teachers, and Registered Apprenticeship Programs
  • Provide technical assistance statewide
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other Student Achievement and Educator Excellence Directors as well as with other units throughout the agency

  • Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 15
  • Arizona State Board of Education rules and regulations relative to educator preparation program approval, as well as certification of teachers and administrators in Arizona
  • Policies and procedures recorded in the AZ State Personnel Manual

  • Applicants must have teaching and administrative experience at the K-12 and/or higher education level(s) and possess a valid AZ teaching or administrative certificate.
  • A master’s degree in education, or equivalent experience to substitute for the degree, is required.
