We are currently seeking:

Director of Design Build Program

Director of Design Build Program will oversee the design and management of Design Build program to ensure projects are designed per the contract documents, comply with all applicable codes, standards and laws, and are completed on time and within the budgeted cost.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee company Design Build Team and hold them accountable for the production, design, estimating, and schedules of their projects.
  • Leads an interdepartmental team to complete an assigned project on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Take lead as Designer and or Estimator on assigned projects.
  • Serves as a mentor for the Design Build Team on preconstruction estimating and design best practices.
  • Acts as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors to ensure clients are satisfied with Tusco during the Design Build process.
  • Provides support and training to Design Build Team in subcontract and vendor procurement and management.
  • Responsible for identifying, creating, and improving Design Build processes and documentation procedures related to project design and estimating of Design Build Projects.
  • Take lead in assisting Design Build Team in conducting proactive risk assessments, reporting identified risks and problem solving of high-level issues throughout the design process.
  • Lead regularly scheduled Design Build meetings, weekly or daily, with each individual and the team as a whole to ensure all responsibilities, goals and schedule milestones are met.
  • Consults with Compliance Manager to ensure that the Design Build Team, Preconstruction Team and Project Management team is educated on and in compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Communicates and collaborates with Design Build Team and payroll staff to ensure accurate job cost tracking and coding timekeeping records.
  • Openly communicate with Physical Security Director on a weekly basis and assist in reviewing project reviews and ensuring all Design Build projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Review and ensure all Design Build costs are being accurately tracked, projected, and coded.
  • Collaborate with Vice President of Sales and Director of Preconstruction to identify and pursue future sales and cultivate relationships.
  • Collaborate with Design Build Team & Pre-Construction department on future proposals and bid strategies as well as provide feedback and historical information for better cost estimating best practices.
  • Follow up and correspond with customers of recent proposals in coordination with Director of Preconstruction to secure new projects.
  • Collaborate with Field Operations department on project documentation and other field production efficiencies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, which may include Building Science, Construction Management, or Engineering, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with current P.E. certification / license, preferred.
  • At least seven years of related experience required.
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, PSP and/or comparable project management certifications highly desirable but not required.
  • OSHA 10 Hour

  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
  • Thorough understanding of Construction Project Management principle and processes
  • Thorough understanding of estimating principles and subcontractor solicitation
  • Thorough understanding of Civil Design principles and a working knowledge of other specialty design criteria including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, and architectural design.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Procore/Esticom and Bluebeam
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project or others similar Construction Project Scheduling software
  • Proficient with Civil 3D and AutoCAD design software
  • Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software or equivalent.
