What does your role bring to the table?
The Director of Data and Analytics plays a pivotal role within Snooze and the Technology team. Partnering with the Vice President of Technology, this position will spearhead the creation and execution of robust analytic strategies, which will foster a culture of Data-driven decision-making throughout our restaurant operations and restaurant support team (The Mothership). The optimal candidate will demonstrate an intricate knowledge of the restaurant industry, coupled with formidable analytical acumen, substantiated by a track record of utilizing data to enhance overall business performance.

The Position specifics!
Taking on the role of Director of Data and Analytics isn’t just about bacon and pancakes. The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Define and implement the product strategy and roadmap for the data analytics portfolio
  • Lay the foundation for a data driven culture and data-informed decision making across the organization by partnering with other departmental leads
  • Oversee the collection, storage, and quality assurance of Data across the business, ensuring accuracy and reliability
  • Establish data governance policies to maintain data integrity and security
  • Design and implement reporting systems and dashboards that provide actionable insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Evaluate product performance using relevant KPIs, making necessary improvements and utilizing real-time data for ensuring optimized restaurant performance and profitability
  • Create tools, reporting mechanisms, and dashboards to showcase top performance across restaurants, employees, food items, menus, etc.
  • Develop data-backed strategies and reporting tools to lower costs, increase revenue, and identify trends and opportunities within the industry
  • Utilize statistical models and machine learning techniques to develop predictive analytics and forecasting tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Marketing, People and Culture, and Operations to understand key business questions and develop analytical solutions to address them
  • Facilitate training sessions to enhance data literacy across the organization
  • Stay abreast of current trends within restaurants and within the food and beverage space
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies in analytics and recommend tools and platforms to enhance the analytics capabilities of the restaurant
  • Lead the implementation of new analytics technologies and ensure successful integration with existing systems
  • Diligently follow competitors and trends within the restaurant technology and data analytics industry
  • Recommend new methodologies and strategies to improve the quality and impact of analysis
  • Other tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned to meet Snooze’s business and operational needs

Let’s talk prerequisites! (Education, credentials, and experience)

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field preferred (e.g., Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics), but other related certifications accepted.
  • 5+ years of experience with big data technologies (Azure, Apache, MongoDB, Databricks, etc) and business intelligence and data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc).
  • Proven experience in a similar analytics leadership role within the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred

Let’s get physical! (additional requirements)

  • Must have the stamina to work 45 to 55 hours per week
  • Minimal travel required
  • Home base is in Denver, CO at the Snooze Mothership (flexible and hybrid work schedule optional)

The Nitty Gritty Details

Denver area base salary range: $140,000 - $160,000 per year

The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the Snooze salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Snooze’s total compensation package for employees.
