Summary

The Director of Clinical Education Relationship Management reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for general oversight and growth of Clinical Education opportunities for Midwestern University students. The incumbent will support MWU’s interest in strengthening and growing its relationship with current Clinical Education partners and goals of expanding into new partnerships and increasing Clinical Education opportunities across the country with an emphasis in the Phoenix and Chicago markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet with representatives at current Clinical Education partners to assess the status of the relationship and identify possibilities for growing student rotations and improving the student rotation experience. This includes exploring opportunities for mutual growth and improvement, considering perspectives from both the University and the Clinical Education partner.
  • Act as a liaison, fostering strong connections between the MWU and current Clinical Education partners. Facilitate and participate in recurring meetings, where key stakeholders such as Deans/Associate Deans from MWU engage with Clinical Education partners to strengthen collaboration, exchange insights, and drive strategic initiatives forward.
  • Cultivate relationships with new Clinical Education partners nationwide with a primary focus on both the local Phoenix and Chicago areas.
  • Oversee the Monthly Rotations Meeting to discuss general Clinical Education matters with representatives from each of the University’s colleges.
  • Work closely with the Chief Academic Officers and the Chief Financial Officer to create and oversee a general strategy around creating an exceptional Clinical Education experience for MWU students.
  • Supervise the Clinical Education Rotation Administrator, whose role is to oversee the administration of Clinical Education at clinical sites such as Abrazo Health and other health systems.
  • Supervise the Analyst of Clinical Education Administration, whose role is to act as a central point of contact for all matters related to Clinical Education, and to assist in other administrative and data gathering elements related to Clinical Education.
  • This position will require travel.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in education, medical education or public health is required. Master’s degree is preferred. At least 7-10 years of experience as a physician, physician’s assistant, advanced practice nurse, healthcare administration or related experience required. Must have prior experience in graduate medical education.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience cultivating and managing partnerships in the healthcare or higher education sectors. Prior experience working in an academic or healthcare setting with exposure to Clinical Education programs and student rotations. Strong understanding of the healthcare industry, including Clinical Education trends and best practices. Must be able and willing to travel to the Downers Grove, IL campus.

Computer Skills

Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Language Skills

High skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to top management, and boards of directors.

Reasoning Ability

High skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Mathematical Ability

Basic skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
