What will I do in this Director of Assisted Living role?

  • Oversee the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and directing the day� to-day functions/operations of Glenmere, its programs and activities.
  • Develop and maintain written policies and procedures that govern operation of the community and comply with NYS-DOH
  • Develop and maintain written job descriptions for each staff position in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, OSHA, and other pertinent laws governing job positions.
  • Assist department managers with the development and implementation of performance evaluations.
  • Assist service department directors in the development and use of departmental policies and procedures, and establishes rapport in and among departments so that each can realize the importance of team
  • Review community policies and procedures periodically, at least annually, and make changes as necessary to assure continued compliance with current regulations (e., NYS-DOH, ADA, ergonomics, etc.).
  • Interpret the community's policies and procedures to employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, , as necessary.
  • Ensure that public information (policy manuals, ) describing the services provided in this community are accurate and fully descriptive.
  • Ensure that all employees, residents, visitors, and the general public follow established Glenmere policies
  • Assume the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the activities and programs of Glenmere.
  • Represent Glenmere at Leadership and FSL
  • Represent Glenmere in dealings with outside agencies, including governmental agencies, municipal agencies, and other healthcare
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Executive Director concerning the operation of
  • Make regular routine inspections of Glenmere to ensure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed. And to also ensure standards for quality, physical condition, and cleanliness are met, as well as to ensure visibility and interaction with residents, visitors and
  • Participate in surveys (inspections) made by New York State Department of Health and other authorized government
  • Review and develop a plan of correction as necessary based on the results of licensure
  • Maintain effective liaison with residents, families, and
  • Work as a campus wide clinical representative to assist residents with emerging

care needs and transition them through the continuum of care as needed.

  • Maintain positive public relations in a manner that continually represents Glenmere favorably.
  • Delegate a responsible staff member to act in your behalf when you are away from Glenmere.
  • Ensure that sound financial management and internal controls are in place at all times. Prepare annual Glenmere budget and monthly financial variance report for review with the Executive Director.
  • Work with Human Resources and Nurse Manager to ensure that an effective human resource program for Glenmere is in place and carried out to support all Glenmere services including current position descriptions, recruitment, orientation, training, timely job performance evaluations and progressive discipline. Maintain all human resource records in keeping with applicable laws and regulation
  • Develop and present to the Executive Director annual strategic and operating objectives for Glenmere and
  • Assures that a comprehensive annual marketing plan is developed in conjunction with the Marketing Director. Assists with marketing activities and evaluates effectiveness of plan and ongoing marketing program.
  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and hospitality with a focus on person centered service and
  • Provides back up to the Executive Director
  • Carry out regular audits and develop quality improvement plans to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Running QI committee per regulatory requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining educational needs for the facility. Auditing compliance with yearly mandatories/required education.
  • Ensuring all licenses/certificates related to Glenmere are up to date-applied for as necessary.
  • Maintaining all requirements of Health Commerce System

Requires:

  • Registered Nurse is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree is necessary. A degree in Public Health Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in Assisted Living or health care or long-term care
  • Working knowledge and proven experience in managerial and administrative techniques.
