Responsible for directing, coordinating, and maintaining an accounting system that accurately reflects the financial position of the Credit Union. Responsible for safeguarding Credit Union assets. Directs the Credit Union's fiscal record keeping. Ensures the accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions. Prepares reports, spreadsheets, exhibits and presentations. Oversees cost accounting, general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, accounts receivable, branch statistical reporting, ATM balancing, accounting information systems, and payroll processing functions. Ensures that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and Credit Union procedures. Develops and monitors department budget. Assigns, directs, mentors, and supervises accounting staff.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. Graduate degree and/or CPA desirable.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Six (6) years of related progressive experience
Three (3) years supervisory experience
