Description

Leads the marketing activities to support the business development function and initiatives for SLFCU in all products and services. Provides strategic direction regarding recommendations and implementation of marketing programs that transform the partnership between sales and marketing at SLFCU. Works collaboratively with all department leaders to ensure integration of marketing initiatives that drive new business. Leads relationship development (e.g. referrals, leads, sourcing and follow-up) and resource acquisition and utilization for marketing initiatives and activities. 

Drives significant growth across lending, deposits, membership and SEG's, focusing on the top of funnel activities aligned with organization strategy and priorities. Demonstrates leadership in the credit union's vision and mission, ensuring member and employee experiences are exceptional while achieving business goals. 


Job Duties:

  • Lead the marketing function and initiatives for SLFCU business development. 
  • Effectively coach, mentor, motivate, and manage a team of internal and external B2B marketing professionals.
  • Collaborate with the members' marketing and product teams in the analysis and design of new business services and products.  
  • Lead and drive the strategic marketing plan to drive membership expansion; retail; mortgage; commercial; business; SEGs.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies focusing on new relationships and new opportunities to expand our membership base.
  • Partner with the sales team to drive SLFCU's efforts to prospect and develop collaborative and profitable relationships within the primary geographic focus areas. 
  • Create and deliver differentiated and progressive marketing events that are experienced based, reflect and align with organizational strategy, and lead to strong growth of the organizations brand, products, and services.
  • Lead SLFCU's marketing efforts to develop relationships, resources, sources, leads, and any other relevant channels, by focusing on top of funnel activities in order to drive significant growth across lending, deposits, memberships, and SEGs.
  • Coordinate efforts with the organization's community engagement team to achieve additional brand recognition within SLFCU's local market area.
  • Track and report KPI's and relevant contributions to production goals. 
  • Support the outside residential sales team to grow relationships with realtors and builders in support of lending production goals.


Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible experience in B2B marketing with a strong focus on business development and sales support, preferably within a financial institution.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role that required good decision-making, problem-solving, influencing others, and facilitation skills.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Must have sales-oriented, self-directed work ethic and business development competencies.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of an effective sales culture.
  • Knowledge and skill in creating and developing successful, profitable relationships with appropriate external sources for lead generation. An already established network in New Mexico is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency with computer applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Able to professionally represent the Credit Union to strategic partners, management, staff and the community.
  • Able to motivate staff and maintain high morale.
  • Able to work proactively with team members and other members of management in developing and achieving a common goal.

  • Knowledge of principles and practices for relationship building and for providing customer service.

  • Moderate to extensive local travel in own vehicle. Proof of insurance and valid driver's license required. Occasional evening and weekend availability. Flexible to work during non-business hours as needed.
