Job Summary
We are seeking a Director of Human Resources for our Reno, Nevada Safety Assessment site.
The Successful candidate will have a proven track record in providing proactive Human Resources leadership. Provides organizational development and strategic support in designing and implementing programs in support of new and ongoing Human Resources initiatives, employee relations and mediation of workplace issues. Participates in HR strategic planning and partnership with site leadership teams.
Responsibilities will include:

  • Provides high-level consultation to senior managers in a variety of HR-related areas, including organizational development, performance management, recruitment and retention, and compensation administration.
  • Understands the site business model and drivers. Partners closely with the site head and other leaders to anticipate and address issues impacting the business as it relates to talent and organizational issues. May participate in HR aspects of merger/acquisition integration activities as appropriate.
  • Works in conjunction with other site Human Resources Leads to encourage Human Resources as the source for consistent guidance, including interpretation of Human Resources policies, procedures, practices, and programs.
  • Partners with site Talent Acquisition to coordinate recruitment efforts, monitors recruitment budgets and ensures site wide resources are in place to support business needs.
  • Provides consultation to managers in a variety of HR-related areas, including organizational development, performance management, recruitment and retention, and compensation administration.
  • Provides consultation and leadership on the handling and resolution of complex employee relations issues, including sexual harassment or discrimination claims, employment-related lawsuits, and the like, ensuring consistency with corporate policies and practices.
  • Directs the annual performance review process for the assigned location. Reviews and approves proposed salary adjustments and annual performance reviews for management personnel.
  • Provides leadership and act as a participant in site events and community-related events which are in support of employees or company, and participate in corporate Human Resources conferences when necessary.

Job Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in Human Resources or related discipline.
Experience: Ten (10) plus years related experience and/or training, including at least three years in a senior management role with an emphasis on organizational development and employee relations. Experience in supporting multinational operations and/or working within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment strongly preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Certifications: PHR/SPHR preferred.
Other: Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Strong computer skills, including knowledge of HRIS and MS Office desktop applications.
The pay for this position starts at $130,000 to $175,000 annually. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

From individual specialty toxicology and IND enabling studies to tailored packages and total laboratory support, our deeply experienced team can design and execute programs that anticipate challenges and avoid roadblocks for a smooth, efficient journey to market. Each year approximately 300 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.
