JOB DESCRIPTION:
NORC at the University of Chicago is growing and we are looking for an experienced Director, Human Resource Business Partners who enjoys both the strategic and daily transactional duties of the Human Resources function. In this position you will also use your expertise to drive and implement a variety of strategic initiatives including talent succession planning, performance management, employee engagement, rewards and recognition, and help evolve our workforce transformation strategy. The Director, Human Resource Business Partners will also lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources including hiring and interviewing staff, onboarding, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

NORC People is responsible for talent acquisition, hiring, benefits administration, employee relations matters, and performance evaluation programs to ensure our organization is maintaining compliance while keeping employees’ best interests in mind.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the daily needs of the client group the annual key HR programs
- Execute ad hoc projects and reports for executive level audiences, as time-sensitive needs arise
- Provide recruiting support for the division
- Maintain awareness of legislation related to all aspects of Human Resources and update management as needed
- Recommend best practices that may require significant innovation for improving products, processes, or services by applying advanced understanding of complex functional/technical areas, business issues and challenges
- Integrate internal and external views to create a business-relevant perspective
- Anticipate resources requirements and modifies plans as needed
- Build and sustain relationships with all levels of the client group
- Collaborate with HR core services (Rewards and Recognition, Leadership Development & Organizational Change, Talent and Workforce Planning, Strategic Staffing, and Shared Services) to diagnose, develop and deliver solutions to support client groups
- Analyzes data and situations and develops solutions

- Analyzes data and situations and develops solutions
- 5 to 8 years of Human Resources Business Partners experience
- Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree or MBA preferred)
