GTPE has provided professional and continuing education for more than a century and learning at a distance for more than 40 years, we enable working professionals and industry partners to access the expertise of a world-renowned research university.We offer professional development courses, certificate programs, and master's degrees to career-focused adults in STEM and business fields worldwide.Our programs are designed to position professionals to deliver immediate workplace impact using knowledge and skills learned from Georgia Tech's faculty experts and each other. Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE) is seeking an outstanding individual with exceptional strategic and interpersonal skills to join the Professional Education team as Director of the Georgia Tech Language Institute (GTLI).This visionary leader will oversee all aspects of the GTLI, including academic operations, student services, and administrative operations.
The Director of the Georgia Tech Language Institute (GTLI) will hold a faculty non-tenure track position to provide instruction and to develop and grow impactful and high-quality programs.This will involve leading the GTLI faculty and staff and collaboration with other units across Georgia Tech and with external partners.
The Director of GTLI is responsible for:
- Providing overall leadership and supervision for Language Institute programs, facilities, staff, and faculty.
- Overseeing recruitment, training, supervision, support, and evaluation of faculty and staff in the Language Institute.
- Leading discussions and interactions with stakeholders at Georgia Tech and external to Georgia Tech in creating and delivering effective Language Institute programming.
- Collaborating effectively with those across GTPE in development, marketing, delivery, and management of quality programs.
- Helping oversee the Language Institute budget and its management/development.
- Keeping informed of and promote compliance with regulatory requirements and policies associated with Language Institute and Georgia Tech programs.
- Teaching Language Institute courses when needed.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.

Academic Professional
- Terminal degree

Senior Academic Professional

- Evidence of superior performance in the chosen field
- Recognition by peers (whether national, regional, or local)
- Successful and measurable related experience
- Five (5) years or more as an Academic Professional
- Terminal degree in a field closely associated with the duties of the position.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in effective academic program leadership.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching with a minimum of 5 years teaching experience in English language instruction.
- The quality of performance and potential for development must be recognized by peers
- Evidence of superior performance in the chosen field
- Successful and measurable related experience supervising other's work.
- Detailed knowledge of innovative teaching methodologies and research associated with language and cultural education.
- Experience with managing grants and budgets
- Familiarity with Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA)
- Understanding of student recruitment, advising, and program marketing
- Strategic planning experience
- Experience in both course material preparation and course delivery that promotes a learner-centered, critical thinking-oriented environments
- Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills.
- Sound professional judgement and attention to detail
- Enthusiasm and dedication to the development of educational program in support of lifelong learning for diverse and multilingual audiences

The individual filling this position will also serve as an Academic Program Director in GTPE and report to the GTPE Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.Core hours will be an average of 40 hours per week (i.e. 100% time).
