Job Description Qualifications:
Engineering, Test & Technology is looking for a Director, Flight TestEngineering BCA and Military Derivative Aircraft (MDA) set to join the team located in Seattle, WA.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for capability and capacity of BCA / MDA Flight Test Engineering including designing, planning, conducting, and analyzing results of Flight Tests
  • Sets strategy and vision for the organization, including implementing program and company initiatives, driving affordability and quality initiatives to increase productivity, utilizing best practices and lessons learned to provide cost effective leading edge technologies to meet contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Develops and establishes organizational policies, structures, budgets, staffing, management relationships, and performance targets for the organization using common processes, tools, training, and metrics
  • Leads organization people strategy, including development and training
  • Responsible for interface with business partner executives across BCA and BDS commercial Military Derivative programs, in support of Flight Test Engineering strategy and deliverables
  • Supports BCA, BGS, BDS and ET&T business with development of Flight Test strategy across the entire product lifecycle

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering management experience, including senior management
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading multi-disciplined complex engineering projects across multiple organizations
  • Minimum 3 years of experience communicating, collaborating, and building consensus with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in leading large organizations with knowledge and application of program management
  • Experience in test operations and Flight Test Engineering operations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, foreign equivalent or equivalent level of experience
  • A strong natural leadership style that moves people to act, motivates and inspires excellence, innovation and an inclusive culture
  • Ability to build a psychologically safe environment of inclusion, transparency, and trust
  • Knowledge of program management best practices
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding targets/goals and strong skills in program execution to schedule and budget
  • Ability to navigate ambiguities in dynamic environments
  • Ability to build positive relationships with senior leaders externally and internally and maintain a global perspective
  • Ability to lead through influence
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and employee development
