About the team and the role:
With innovative and exciting operational initiatives, the Authentication Operations team is a fast-paced and passion-filled team to be a part of. This team has successfully launched watches, handbags, sneakers, trading cards, and apparel authentication in the US, CA, AU, UK, DE and JP in under four years. We are a group of unique and diverse teammates who together make a complete business unit and are seeking a Director, Authentication and Global Excellence, to drive success in multiple facilities around the globe.
You will be joining the Global Facility Operations team and reporting to the Senior Director, Global Authentication Facilities Operations. You will be primarily responsible for directing facility operations in North America and driving global continuous improvement strategy and execution. You will also collaborate regularly with internal and external partners to ensure alignment to Ebay principals and business goals.
What you will accomplish:
- Lead a team of 3-5 salaried leaders, and over 100 hourly associates, to deliver extraordinary results in Safety, Quality, Customer Experience, Employee Engagement, Leadership Development, and Cost.
- Develop and implement a global continuous improvement strategy, by teaching Lean & Standard Work techniques, while building a sustainable continuous improvement environment.
- Forge strategic partnerships with internal team members and external partners to drive key authentication operations projects and initiatives.
- Partner with other international authentication directors to standardize operations and cultivate global collaboration and learning among building leaders and associates.
- Build facility leadership competence in the areas of associate & manager development, critical metric management, conflict resolution, goal setting, and accountability.
- Champion eBay DNA principles.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience or higher from an accredited university. MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
- Sustained track record of leading significant operational improvements in a multi-building environment. Global experience is a plus.
- Steadfast advocate for, and builder of, robust safety, quality and employee engagement cultures.
- Strong analytical skills and a proven ability to work independently and influence others.
- Creative problem solving and skill for multi-level team development.
- Ability and willingness to travel 40-50% of the time, including internationally.
