Job description

Position Purpose

This position is responsible for all aspects of Construction and space utilization, of all Renown Health System sites, including but not limited to, Renown Regional campus, South Meadows Campus, Rehabilitation Hospital & Network. In addition, this position is responsible for all facilities and Clinical Engineering for medical group and network services. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and directing services within Renown Health and all health network affiliated departments. The incumbent is also responsible for delivering cost effective and high-quality services through the departments under his/her responsibility.

 

 

 

Nature and Scope

• Provides strategic planning and direction for facility upgrades, and administrative oversight of facilities, construction & real estate day-to-day operations, ensuring long term durability of facilities engineering systems and buildings.

• Directs oversight for financial planning and cost containment within Facilities, Clinical Engineering, & Construction Incumbent will maintain accountabilities for all Medical Group and Network Services property, plant and equipment relating to facilities and Clinical Engineering at the assigned services locations:

• Exhibits a Servant Leadership mentality.

• Develops implements and tracks Facilities, Construction & Clinical Engineering -based key Performance Indicators and P.I. Program.

• Maintains and exceeds quality metrics and benchmarks for internal and external operations and customers.

• Follows Due Diligence for all Renown property regardless of purchased or leased to ensure that it meets all regulatory standards, and compliance with rules or regulations.

• Acts as an educational resource and is available for consultation to administrative staff members as requested.

• Implements and ensures compliance of/with standards, best practices and policies and procedures for the Department and System relating to Construction, Clinical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, physical plant operations, energy management (power generation and acquisition), buildings and grounds maintenance, infection control, purchased services and supply management.

• Manages all departmental budgets under his/her responsibility and is accountable for budget compilation and compliance.

• Directs construction for all Renown Health entities, Medical Group and Network Clinical & Facilities Engineering, physical plant, grounds, and contracted services staff. Manages staffing levels and shift assignments. Mentors staff and fosters atmosphere of educational and personal growth.

• Member of Joint Commission, Emergency Preparedness and Safety Committees/Team. Provides Clinical and Facilities Engineering representation on each Committee/Team and ensures preparation for and delivery of continuous function and services for any/all events.

• Responsible for compliance with all regulatory codes (Joint Commission, OSHA, ASHRAE, NEC, etc.).

• Maintains Construction, Clinical & Facilities Engineering component of Joint Commission Statement of Conditions for each facility under purview.

• Integrates local operations with all departments within the Facility Support Services Division in support of overall operations and objectives.

• Manages individual Construction, Clinical and Facilities Engineering capital projects through all phases of the development process (budgeting, proforma analysis, programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents/specifications, contracting, construction and occupancy).

• Maintains safety standards and ensures a safe work environment.

 

Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Name

Description

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of 8 years of experience in construction and facilities management, with 5 years of director level managerial experience. Clinical Engineering experience preferred. Prior experience leading facilities within a large integrated health system environment is ideal. A working knowledge of Construction, clinical and facility engineering is required including HVAC, plumbing systems, Clinical Engineering, electrical systems, and engineering maintenance. Demonstrated experience managing large budgets. Extensive knowledge of facilities software operating systems (BAS, fire protection, energy management, etc.) required. e-Builder experience desired, but not required.

License(s):

Ability to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria.

Certification(s):

Preference will be given for Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) certification.

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
