Who We're Looking For - Reporting to the VP, Technology, we are seeking an experienced and visionary Director, Engineering to lead our digital initiatives and drive the evolution of our online presence. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in web development, e-commerce, people leadership and advocacy and digital strategy to propel our brand to new heights.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive web development strategy aligned with business goals and customer experience objectives
• Lead and inspire a talented team of full stack developers, fostering innovation and continuous improvement
• Manage the breakout of project tasks between internal developers and outsourced partners
• Partner with key Sales & Marketing peers to understand evolving business needs and identify efficient solutions
• Collaborate with UX/UI Design, and Product teams to align web development initiatives with overall business objectives
• Architect the strategic balance between Platform features and custom implementations
• Oversee the development and maintenance of our e-commerce platforms, ensuring a seamless and engaging online shopping experience
• Monitor and support day to day needs of a fast-moving enterprise with focus on delivering value as well as scalable solutions
• Multi-task across multiple responsibilities and troubleshoot problems of various complexities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize conversion rates, user experience, and site performance
• Evaluate and implement cutting-edge technologies and tools to enhance website functionality and performance
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of fullstack engineers
• Provide guidance and support to nurture a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability
• Ensure seamless integration between web platforms and other business systems
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field preferred
• Proven experience in a leadership role within web development, preferably in the consumer goods or e-commerce sector
• Past experience defining OKR's for a team of web developers with demonstrable results is a plus
• Understanding of eCommerce storefronts, multiple commerce platforms such as Commerce tools, Shopify preferred
• Understanding of integrations with multiple systems beyond the "front" of the side, including ERP, CDP's preferred
• Opinionated on when to build vs buy with a focus on scalability for the growing needs of the company
• Ability to articulate solutions to various stakeholders including Marketing, eCommerce and leadership teams and peers
• Knowledge of Typescript, NodeJS based applications is a plus
• Strong technical proficiency in web development languages and familiarity with platforms such as CMS, DAM and other Marketing platforms and AB testing frameworks preferred
• Experience with Squad based development teams preferred
• Proven track record in understanding and implementing developer effectiveness initiatives to enhance team productivity and efficiency
• Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Deep understanding of e-commerce trends, UX/UI principles, and digital marketing
