Position Summary:
Maintains responsibility and accountability for all functions and activities within Emergency Services. In collaboration with the VP of Nursing, plans, implements and evaluates delivery of care, establishes and monitors department goals and standards of performance and assures coordination of patient care services in the Emergency Department, Trauma Services, Emergency Management Preparedness and Overflow/ Observational Care Unit. Establishes an interdisciplinary approach to program and care planning. Works with the VP of Nursing Services to realize the Missionand Vision of the organization while providing leadership for the Emergency Services. Formulates and implements policies, procedures, guidelines and standards in compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the McLaren Health Care/Subsidiary vision, mission, and values.
2. Assures the provision of safe, reliable, compassionate care in Emergency Services. Establishes objective measures for assessing quality of patient care delivery to those serviced. Reports and analyzes data and intervenes to continuously improve care quality.
3. In partnership with the VP of Nursing Services, develops strategic and business plans consistent with the organization’s mission, vision and values.
4. Provides leadership in advancement of clinical process and quality standards in Emergency Services and Emergency Management. Assists in enhancing MRMC’s reputation as a recognized clinical leader.
5. In collaboration with the VP of Nursing Services and the Medical Director of the Emergency Department, assures consistency in patient care protocols and standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Masters’ Degree in Nursing, Business Administration or related field within two years of hire date.
- If Masters is not obtained in Nursing, must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Must be licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
- Minimum of five years acute care nursing experience required.
- Progressive management experience required, with proven interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred:
- BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN).

Pay: $130,062.00 - $214,614.00 per year
