Job Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Statistics or similar
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- 3+ years of managerial experience - ability to guide, coach, and develop high-performing teams
- Experience designing, building, & deploying production-quality models
- Experience developing, monitoring, & improving models
- Proficiency in programming, database management, & ML Operations
- Strong project management experience
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills

Hybrid role, 3-4 days onsite
JD is exactly what they're looking for per Harsh, reports to him
5-6 data scientists will be under this person, team will grow, they have a bunch of subsidiaries and they're doing various things in the market
Be open for at least 5 mos. now
Challenges: trying to manage current staff on a day to day basis
Really looking for hands-on manager, very hands-on, direct team on a day to day basis, code reviews, secondary reviews, 2 week sprints
Responsible for everything
Very knowledgeable regarding Data Science, been there done that, somebody who can come in and direct properly (not just managerial)
In the process of improving what they do, they build all their models, python models, no automation in the background, takes them 2-3 mos., in the process of building a new data warehouse, feature store, director will be involved with all of this
No ML Ops package, needs someone with good knowledge here (can advise here, responsible for leading this project)
Shift what they're doing today at NF and improving this to a new level
Companies/industries: main model is their own customized model, someone who has been in financial services, banking is good
Generative AI: knowledge with this, but not on their 2024 roadmap, but he does want to go there at some point, large & small language models, don't need too much in-house LLM, but this person will be the go-to SME, long-term plan would be own LLM models for specific use cases, but for now whatever is out there
Challenge as to why it's open for 5 mos.: biggest at this moment is hybrid/local, lots of Biotech candidates, not enough experience, don't want someone 'ready' to move into this, they need to already have the experience, need someone better than they already have, but they now need someone ASAP
