Director, Consumer Deposits Product Manager

Job Summary

Develops product strategy and leads management of Consumer Bank products, services, and pricing. Monitors and analyzes portfolio results to drive performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability or client experience in alignment with Synovus strategies. Develops and leads launch of new products, features, and solutions to increase acquisition or adoption. Maintains and leverages awareness of industry changes, shifts in regulatory expectations, or emerging innovations to proactively identify strategic repositioning or develop new offerings. Drives collaboration with cross-functional business partners to execute product initiatives. Serves as the decision-maker for products and services managed.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversees management of Consumer Deposits(checking, savings/MMA, time deposits) and various deposit services overdraft programs, personal checks, Synovus's relationship programs & protection services.
• Develops and maintains product or service strategy in alignment with line of business (LOB) and Synovus strategies. Maintains and leverages awareness of evolving competitive industry & regulatory trends to proactively identify strategic adjustments or develop new products, features, services, or solutions.
• Monitors production and portfolio performance. Summarizes findings and shares insights to drive performance and support strategic development. Proactively identifies and drives opportunities to improve profitability.
• Develops product or service pricing strategy based on recommendations from Finance and in partnership with line of business (LOB) leadership. Oversees implementation of approved pricing changes and updates to material, disclosures, and frontline communications.
• Partners with Marketing to design or adjust strategies to drive and optimize results. Develops and manages promotional offers as needed.
• Partners with LOB to drive sales performance and optimizes product positioning. Collaborates to develop strategies and improve results.
• Collaborates with cross-functional business partners to set and ensures client experience expectations, operational excellence, and efficiency.
• Serves as the decision-maker for products and services managed in the implementation of initiatives with cross-functional business partners with guidance from subject-matter-experts as needed. Escalates issues or critical decisions to organization leadership as needed.
• Manages risk in alignment with Synovus and line of business risk tolerances and ensures products and processes are in compliance with Risk Management policies. Oversees compliance, regulatory, and legal incidents that may arise in the course of business activities.
• Manages the annual performance management and merit processes for direct and indirect reports. Coaches and develops team members and builds a work environment where team members are engaged and feel a positive sense of achievement about their role in the company. Works closely with Human Resources regarding employee relations, compensation, training, posting and filling vacant positions and other Human Resources related matters.
• Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
