JOB OVERVIEW
Director of Cardiac Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology - Northern Indiana is responsible for direction and coordination of the activities of the Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology Departments of Munster, Dyer, Michigan City, and Crown Point in order to execute daily operations. This position provides management support, strategic directives and planning to the Departments. The Director has administrative responsibility for assigned departments and program development with Patient Care Services. This position assumes 24-hour responsibility and assists with the planning, organization, direction, management, and evaluation of patient care delivery for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Interventional Radiology.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Acts as a liaison between Cath Lab/IR Departments, Franciscan Physician Network and Franciscan service line administration.
- Directs the design and implementation of policies and procedures for all administrative areas within the Cath Lab and IR departments to enhance operational effectiveness while emphasizing cost containment, high performance, and high-quality patient care.
- Works with Quality Department and department supervisors/managers to identify operational process improvements and implements change.
- Develops and manages one or multiple departmental budgets, including making budget allocations, approving expenditures and ensuring expenses are within budget.
- Makes decisions for direct reports in one or multiple departments and performs people management activities such as performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, staff planning, and interviews.
- Partners with Quality to assure excellent patient experience and safety in accordance with all policies and procedures.
- Creates and sustains a culture in the departments that reflects the Franciscan Mission and Values.
- Ensures all program initiatives, activities and facilities adhere to all applicable corporate, safety, regulatory and accreditation standards, policies and procedures.
- Supervises managers within multiple departments and manages the performance of individuals through ongoing coaching, feedback and development to motivate, engage and drive a high performing team.
- Manages current Cath Lab and IR programs including planning, implementation, monitoring, and promotion within the Franciscan Alliance.
- Directs strategic and operational planning to achieve clinical, financial, service and people excellence. Reviews and analyzes service statistics and uses results to improve and expand services.
- Builds and maintains relationships with other departments. Collaborates with Human Resources on recruitment, hiring, orientation, performance evaluations, and corrective action.
- Develops and provides comprehensive services and programs within the Cath Lab and IR Departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, or related - Required
- Master's Degreed in Healthcare, Business Administration, or related - Preferred
- 5 years direct Cath Lab Experience - Required
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) American Heart Association - Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association - Required
