Job description
Beaverbrook STEP Inc. is seeking a Female Support Advocate with strong leadership and advocacy skills to accept a dynamic role within its residential division. The candidate will be responsible for providing Direct Support to 4 women with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The Support Advocate will be responsible for the implementation of Individual Service Plans, supporting individuals to be active and inclusive members of their community, fostering continued personal growth and being part of a fun and exciting environment. Other specific operational responsibilities of the household will be assigned at various times.
Female preferred and you must have a current drivers license and be willing to drive.
3p-11p shifts available during the week and 9a-11p shifts available on the weekends.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
INDIVIDUALS
- Operational responsibility for implementation of Individual’s ISP goals and collection of data to document progress.
- Advocate for individuals on multiple levels as needed.
- Provide direct care to individuals in a sensitive and caring manner.
- Write daily notes and keep accurate communication logs for each shift.
- Attend and keep accurate documentation of medical/psychological appointments.
- Have fun!
STAFF
- Participate as a team member, offering support for fellow staff advocates.
- Participate in ongoing supervision with the Support Director
- Attend all regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Provide leadership and guidance as a member of the staff team.
SITE
- Share in daily operation of household, assuming responsibility for those areas designated by the Support Director.
- Be open to all staff development programs deemed appropriate to the specific needs of the site by the Support Director.
- Ensure the health and safety of the individuals by helping them maintain a clean and organized household.
