SalaryAn Altoona woman in her mid-forties is seeking a mature and flexible individual to assist her in the home and in the community. She has been diagnosed with a mild intellectual disability and has a severe history of trauma, which makes it difficult for her to trust new people. She is very independent and wants to be treated as an equal.
Job Duties
Assist her going to medical appointments and understanding follow-up care.
Take her and her cat to the veterinarian and assist with understanding follow-up care.
Assist with budgeting, shopping, laundry, household organization/cleaning.
Job Requirements:
Must possess a current LPN, CNA, or RN License
OR
Bachelor’s degree in one the following areas: Psychology, Education, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, or Gerontology
Other Requirements:
Must possess a valid PA driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance
Criminal history background checks are mandatory
Individuals residing in PA less than 2 years must submit to an FBI fingerprinting check
References Required
Cell Phone Must be powered off except on scheduled breaks.
Hours and Rate of Pay:
30-35 per hour depending upon experience.
Wednesdays from 10am-3pm
Backup/PRN is also needed.
This position is not private pay, it is funded through the Intellectual Disability Waiver Program.
