Job description
Direct Care Worker is someone who helps manage the day-to-day lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This requires that the support staff is aware of the client's goals. The Direct Care worker is responsible for home maintenance and spend considerable time continually coaching and training, therefore, patience is required. A basic outline of the job responsibilities include the following: 1. Assist individuals with their daily living, provide safety and comfort. 2. Provide assistance with basic tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming and eating. 3. Help with managing other tasks such as preparing meals, cleaning, laundry, shopping, keeping tract of medical and dental appointments etc...4. Other responsibilities include documenting the client's progress in progress notes and other logs daily. Applicants must be able to pass all background checks, have a valid driver's license with a good driving record and a high school diploma.
