Direct Care Professional

CARES full-time staff receive a company vehicle to use for the entire workday because you'll be transporting our Participants (VIPs)!

Do you have a passion for helping others and desire a meaningful job you love? Cares of Western PA needs a full-time Direct Care Professional, to support adults with intellectual disabilities with the ultimate goal of gaining independence and community integration, at all locations of our community-based day program.

This is a floater position which means you would be working and available to be at any of our centers Northwest of Pittsburgh. Our floaters fill in for vacations, excused absences etc. They go where they are needed and are scheduled just like anyone else.

Your work week will look like this:

• Monday - Friday
• 8 am - 4 pm
• No Nights
• No Weekends
• No Holidays

With CARES programs approximately 75% of the time, here's what you'll be doing:

• Helping participants become a valuable part of their community.
• Volunteering for non-profits.
• Helping our VIPs learn life skills and prevocational skills.
• Enjoying many different recreational activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory 3+ years driving record.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Ability to pass physical/TB test.
• Ability to pass criminal background checks.
• Experience helpful, but not necessary. Complete PAID training provided.
