GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Under the direction of the Assistant Dining Services Supervisor, Dining Servers must provide courteous service to customers and have an awareness of proper food handling. Dining Servers must demonstrate and maintain wine presentation and menu knowledge, “pre-bus” tables, carry trays and offer wine and fresh ground pepper to diners. The Dining Server performs all tasks of serving customers from taking food and drink orders, to delivering food and handling cash and credit card payments. Dining Servers must act as team players, maintain a neat appearance and display a professional demeanor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, daily specials, liquor brands, beers, wines and non-alcoholic selections available.

2.Responsible for taking cocktail and menu orders and answering any relative questions that the customers may have about the items.

3.Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.

4. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.

5.Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies and service procedures.

6.Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND TRAINING

Must possess excellent customer service skills and be familiar with the restaurant functions and duties that are required.

ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Must be approved for and maintain a valid Video Lottery Gaming Service Employee license issued by the New York State Gaming Commission.
