Frevo is a Michelin Star Restaurant by Brazilian chef Franco Sampogna and Portuguese restaurateur Bernardo Silva.

Frevo is looking for an up-and-coming Hospitality professional for our Dining Room Manager role.

The successful candidate will be groomed to take the General Manager position in the medium term.
For this position, we are also willing to sponsor US Visas.

Requirements

  • 2+ years minimum on supervising positions at fine-dining restaurants, Michelin-awarded or similar grade.
  • Contagious Attitude, careful attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and strong communication skills
  • Experience Managing Reservations Systems (Tock preferred), managing day-to-day availabilities and reservations schedule.
  • Experience handling Reservations, Email correspondence, and Private Events Enquiries.
  • Relevant experience on the floor, serving and recommending Wine Bottles, Wine BTG, and Wine Pairings.
  • Relevant Wine Knowledge and ability to perform wine service instead of the sommeliers when needed.
  • Comfortable discussing different grapes, regions, and most famous wine appellations.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive and growing knowledge of the restaurant industry.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for the restaurant and an endless curiosity for the food and wine world
  • Microsoft Office Skills - Basic Excel and PowerPoint Skills, Word, and comfortable handling daily menu printing.
  • Computer Proficient Extra Skills - Mailchimp, WordPress, Tock, Adobe, and Square are a huge plus.
  • Preferred beforehand but can obtain during employment: NYC DOH Food Protection Certificate.

Responsibilities:

  • HR: Assist the GM in recruiting FOH Staff and create a successful onboarding program and employee relations tracking system.
  • Operations - Create comprehensive training and onboarding procedures. Create comprehensive Service and Dining Room Setup / Cleaning Procedures.
  • Daily Briefing. Preparing and conducting daily briefings with precision, creating creative ways to motivate and train the service and kitchen team.
  • Training - Responsible for training and onboarding new service staff.
  • Purchasing/Inventory: orders, inventory, cost reporting as needed.
  • Being present during operating hours.
  • POS maintenance: stay up to date, replace, and update as needed.
  • Guest relations: build rapport, manage guest preferences and notes on Tock, and follow up with guests as needed.
  • Tock: Familiarize with TOCK OS, supervise Host / Maître d’, and communicate to improve the app usage and optimize seating.
  • Reservations: Manage a one-month-booked-in-advance calendar.
  • Food menu updates: Work with the culinary team for any updates on allergies.
  • Responsible for closing the restaurant, rotating with other elements on the team, ensuring the security of the facility when last to leave the building, and checking for gas/hood/appliances upon departure
