We are looking for a committed Senior Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join our team with the drive to solve unique and challenging problems for our Defense, Homeland Security, and various US government customers.  The rapid advancement in software defined radio hardware has led to exciting new opportunities to design and develop novel software and Signal Processing techniques leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Our team is seeking those who are excited to advance technology, develop unique deployment strategies, and are capable of pushing forward through challenges to accomplish one of RII's most successful core values, Get s#it done. 

This position requires an active US Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
    • Working with state of the art multi-channel SDR technology to create novel Cyber, EW, and SIGINT solutions
    • Developing DSP software in C/C++, Rust, and CUDA
    • Execute in a fast-paced, small team environment through all phases of the hardware/software life cycle from conceptual development and detailed design through manufacturing, qualification testing, and post-delivery support
    • Conduct RF analysis and test events to capture results and draw new conclusions on the art of the possible
    • Support resolution of technical issues that are discovered during the manufacture and test of deliverable hardware
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
    • Completed Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/ Engineering
    • Minimum of six (6) years experience in working with software defined radios and developing Signal Processing applications
    • Demonstrated expertise with RF signals and wireless communications principles
    • Hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods including use of network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes
    • Knowledge of common modulation methods such as BPSK, QPSK, QAM, etc.
    • Developed exciter, transmitter, receiver and antenna subsystems
    • Performed integration of SDR, RF antennas, and DSP Compute Hardware for RF system equipment integration
    • Used C/C++, CUDA, and Python for signal detection, filtering, resampling, timing synchronization, and further processing
    • Demonstrated effective communication within a team environment
    • Knowledge of and ability to perform cascade analysis of Gain, Noise Figure, Noise Power, Intercept Point, output power, etc.
    • Knowledge of the design and performance characteristics and limitations of amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, filters, etc.
    • Interface with the customer and provide presentations, lead/perform trade studies and design reviews, and lead RF oriented test activities
    • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to effectively interact with customers
EVEN BETTER
    • Master of Science (MS) or Master in Engineering (ME) in Electrical Engineering with a focus on wireless communications, software defined radios, and Digital Signal Processing (preferred)
    • Be passionate about mission-focused work
    • Familiar with Direction Finding and Geolocation Algorithms
    • Familiar with DSP Frameworks like GNURadio, liquid-dsp, and proprietary DoD/IC DSP frameworks
    • Familiar with graphics pipeline programming, Vulkan, CUDA, cuSignal, RAPIDS, and other GPU accelerated computing technologies
    • Familiar with DoD/IC EW, SIGINT systems and architectures
