The Lancer Print Shop provides the highest quality printed material, copies, and service in the most efficient, courteous manner. The Digital Production Technician will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all Digital Printing presses, providing excellent quality and workmanship for the faculty, staff, and students of Longwood University.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare documents, complex reports, brochures, and multi-colored documents for digital re-production
- Operate Digital Printing presses
- Operate digital engraver
- Maintain web-based digital ordering system
- Communicate with customers on projects, providing excellent customer service
- Provide operational support as necessary in the customer service areas to include fulfilling financial transactions according to university policy
- Operate bindery equipment (perfect binder, stitcher, spiral binding machine, padding press) and fulfillment equipment (booklet maker, drill press, cutter)
- Maintain proficiency in fulfilling orders as well as completing orders by scheduled due date
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Extensive customer service experience
- Experience with Mac computers
- Working knowledge of general printing practices to prepare for digital reproduction
- Extensive computer experience including MS Office, required; Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Suite, preferred
- Experience operating printing equipment to include digital presses, bindery equipment, digital engraver, high-speed printers, and copiers, preferred
- Experience with wide format equipment such as Roland XR-640 or an approved equivalent
- Knowledge of wide format production, mechanical assembly, and sign/banner manufacturing
- Mechanical ability to provide weekly preventative maintenance in include calibration, cleaning, oiling, etc. of existing equipment
- Forklift training desired but can be provided once hired
- Demonstrated Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds
