Job description

This is an in-person role in Parkersburg, WV.

Purpose of Position:

As the Ecommerce Site Merchandiser, you will be responsible for driving and supporting the sales plan by executing Woodcraft.com’s product and promotional strategy. You will be successful in this role if you are an analytical and creative individual. You will be responsible for the development and execution of merchandising tactics. This is a cross functional role and you will partner with website operations, Digital Marketing, brand marketing, planning, as well as graphic design and digital copywriters to curate product, category and special feature assortments. You will use data driven insights to optimize the customer journey with the goal of improving site funnel metrics. You will be a key link between the content, operations, and marketing teams with set up and execution of all site launches and updates to ensure that the customer, as the end user, is delivered a seamless experience.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in an ecommerce retail environment
  • Experience working with an enterprise level e-commerce platform(s)
  • Experience with Google Analytics, and/or other types of metrics dashboards
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent ecommerce experience

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Manages the online merchandising focus adhering to overall merchandise and promotional direction and strategy, makes content recommendations based on customer engagement, competitive insights and eCommerce roadmap initiatives. Ensures proper presentation of brand, product information, category information, accurate promotional tags and website merchandising
  • Maintain site navigation, including creating and removing categories as needed based on merchandising and marketing strategies, merchant reporting and web analytics
  • Continuous product presentation improvements including short, long descriptions, key features, photography, and restrictions
  • Maintain site integrity by executing daily content refreshes
  • Review onsite search behavior to gain an understanding of keyword queries and manipulate the products within the search pages to drive conversion
  • Google Analytics – Utilize web analytics and data to guide ongoing improvements and optimize site merchandising tools to drive category traffic and increase conversion. (AOV, CVR, etc.) Uses key customer behavior data, including product views, conversion, bounce rate and engagement, to inform on-site navigational and content development strategies
  • Drive changes to online category strategy based on customer and competitive insights, brand strategy and e-commerce goals and initiatives using analytics
  • Participates in the eCommerce roadmap planning process to help identify opportunities and emerging trends
  • Continuous UX Improvements - Minimize friction throughout the user journey; Identify pain points for our website users; Collaborate with a UX Designer to explore possible solutions to UX pain points.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly, identify issues and present possible solutions
  • Expert in juggling multiple tasks, re-prioritizing where needed and consistently delivering on time
  • Must have strong sense of accountability, ownership, attention to detail
  • Ensure that company website is adhering to SEO best practices.

  • Professional Google Analytics User
  • Prior Use of a Digital Assets Management system
  • Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
