DIGITAL MARKETING INTERN - A GROWTH-PRIMED ENTRY LEVEL POSITION
In this long-term opportunistic position at SSDM, you will be presented with a mix of responsibilities and learning opportunities. Your days during the first 6 months will primarily be filled with Operations responsibilities (more detail on this below), but these will be interwoven with on-the-job training and learning curriculum for the Digital Marketing side of our business. This is an immense opportunity. SSDM is willing to invest in your education. You will begin your journey with us at the front desk and be there for a minimum of 6 months. At that point, we will evaluate your readiness and the workload opportunity for you to move away from the front desk and into the office with our team.

Interview Process: In order to better assure the correct mix of natural talents, we will ask you to participate in a number of tests during your interview process.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Handling incoming calls and other communications.
  • Proofreading and quality checks, assuring that all copy is accurate and well written (spelling & punctuation), that images display well and are as approved by our client/team (you will received guidelines for each proofing/QA project)
  • Greeting clients and visitors to our offices
  • Managing and communicating to the entire team their monthly Chipworthy totals (you will be trained on this)
  • Ordering lunches as needed and help manage all details around client visits and other agency events
  • Providing a weekly email that summarizes the items presented during our Monday am mtg
  • Updating our intranet with revised and new information, as needed
  • Updating paperwork, maintaining documents and word processing, as needed
  • Leading the organization and maintenance of our office common areas
  • Performing general office clerk duties such as getting mail and running errands (with mileage reimbursement)
  • Organizing travel by booking accommodations and reservations as required.
  • Assisting in the coordination of events, as requested
  • Managing Executive and HR calendars and recording their hours, as required
  • Maintaining supply inventory and purchasing
  • Maintaining office equipment as needed

Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and finish tasks in a timely manner are highly regarded attributes for this position.

Management and Performance Evaluations: Your front desk duties will be trained and overseen by our Operations Supervisor and your internship and growth will be overseen by our VP Agency Experience. You will receive a quarterly assessment from both individuals (together), which will clarify how we are feeling about your performance and growth, as well as give you an opportunity to tell us what interests you, what you have enjoyed learning most and where you see yourself growing to next.


Hours:

The hours of this position are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with a half hour lunch. Wednesday is a WFH day for most of our team, but leadership often comes into the office. Because of this, your in-office days will be determined week to week, but you will occasionally work from home on Wednesdays. You will be assigned work and/or training for those days.


Compensation Plan:

Profit Sharing:

SSDM recently introduced full team profit sharing. This means that on your very first day at SSDM you will begin an ever-increasing qualification for profits that will be distributed in Dec of each year. In your first year, you will be 20% vested. Your vestment will increase each year until you are fully, 100% vested by your 5th year. This income is in addition to your salary.

Salary: $40,000.


PTO Days: 10

Paid Holidays:

  • For 2024: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Friday After Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, Christmas Day. SSDM often closes all or a portion of the work days between Christmas and New Years Day. That decision is made each year based on client schedules and workloads, so we will not promise anything beyond Christmas eve and Day. Even if we don’t close any of those days, your compensation will include 17 paid days off.

Internship Growth Plan:

There are a number of different career categories at our agency. The most common/abundant is in Customer Experience. At SSDM, this role is a mix of project manager and account manager. Performance Media (Google Ads and other forms of digital search and display marketing) is another path. Our creative team consists of Art Directors, Copy writers (some who are SEO blog specialists), SEO, CRM and Social Media specialists are also potential paths.

Our intent is to expose you to as many different types of Digital Marketing skills as possible. Though we will ask how you like various things, we will also look at how naturally adept you are at each skill. Then we will assess the opportunity for this skill on our team, based on our projected workload.
