- Conducts computer and digital examiner forensic analysis/imaging to aid in law enforcement investigations and to assist the Department's Professional Standards Unit.
- Instructs law enforcement officers in proper Digital Forensic techniques and evidence handling.
- Performs administrative functions.
- Annually complete cardholder training on proper card usage, security, and procurement guidelines, electronically, within the Department of Human Resource Management’s Learning Center.
- Compliance as required by Executive Order Number Thirty-Five (2019).
Minimum Qualifications
- Considerable knowledge on constructing and dissembling computers; of Windows operating systems and other digital devices for purposes of extracting, examining, and analyzing computer hardware, software, electronically stored data, and other computer related evidentiary materials to assist with investigation and prosecution of criminal cases.
- Skills in assembling and disassembling computers and other digital devices; in troubleshooting basic hardware and software problems; and in examining desktop, laptop, tablets, computer hardware and mobile devices to include game systems such as Play Stations and Xbox.
- Ability to use forensic software applications and hardware to image electronically stored data; to preserve the evidentiary chain of custody; to organize, present and document work procedures within established guidelines; and to testify in court in support of evidence discovery,
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must possess a valid operator's license or ability to obtain prior to hiring.
Additional Considerations
- Experience with criminal investigations and computer forensics preferred.
- Computer and computer Forensic Examiner certifications such as A+, Certified Computer Forensic Examiner (CFCE), and Basic Data and Recovery Analysis (BDRA) preferred.
