Digital Forensic Analyst I
The Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center (MOCIC) has an immediate opening for a full-time Digital Forensic Analyst I. MOCIC is an organization composed of member law enforcement and criminal justice agencies in the Midwestern United States working together to combat multi-jurisdictional criminal activities. As one of the RISS Centers, MOCIC assists local, state, federal, and tribal criminal justice agencies by providing adaptive solutions and services that facilitate information sharing, support criminal investigations, and promote officer safety.
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual who is self-motivated, has the ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
Duties:
- Provides digital and other electronic forensic support, including search and seizure consultation, to member agencies or task forces involved in complex criminal investigations or intelligence gathering activities.
- Conducts forensic examinations on mobile-related devices legally seized by law enforcement officers using complex forensics hardware and software.
- Extract or acquire evidence from legally seized mobile-related devices.
- Evaluates and validates Digital Forensic hardware and software.
- Prepares reports concerning the results of forensic examination.
- May conduct briefings concerning the results of the forensic examination.
- May testify in court as to results of forensic examination.
- Maintains current knowledge pertaining to mobile-related devices, as well as Digital Forensics examination products, techniques, and related criminal justice issues.
- Routinely handles confidential information.
- Advises and assists member agencies in the use of MOCIC services and resources.
- Prepares related written material for use in MOCIC/RISS publications and presentations.
- May develop or conduct training or presentations for MOCIC members, MOCIC staff, or the law enforcement community.
- May be assigned to complete special projects, studies, or duties as needed.
- Ability to achieve the required professional certification will be required.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in computer science, computer forensics, criminal justice, or a related field. Law enforcement experience preferred. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the desired level of knowledge, ability, and skill may be considered.
Location/Hours: Located in Springfield, MO and office hours are normally 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Flex schedule is considered after completion of probationary period. A flex schedule is dependent upon department needs and requires supervisor/manager approval. Some travel required. Any questions please contact hr@mocic.riss.net.
Salary: The starting salary for this position is $55,820 plus benefits.
