JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:Digital Engagement SpecialistSchedule: 40 hrs/week

Job Type: Full-Time, At-will FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Director of Enrollment and Recruitment Pay: $48,400, starting; Salary Schedule

Special: Hybrid - Home Office working position; May require weekend

work, nights and early mornings, as needed

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Digital Engagement Specialist is responsible for enhancing and expanding the communication efforts of Ingenium Schools through various digital platforms, social media, and other communication channels. This role is pivotal in engaging parents, disseminating information, promoting community involvement, and managing the online reputation of the school district. The ideal candidate will be a creative, innovative, tech-savvy individual who can strategize, create, manage content, and foster positive relationships with parents and the community.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & JOB DUTIES
:

Duties may include, but are not limited to:


NETWORK CONTRIBUTIONS:

  • Support the mission, vision, and core values of Ingenium Schools
  • Strive to implement, by instruction and action, Ingenium Schools’ philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
  • Continuously maintain and improve professional competence
  • Attend mandatory trainings, professional meetings, and educational conferences, as required

Content Creation and Distribution:

  • Develop and implement a content strategy for regular, engaging posts and updates on social media platforms and other communication channels.
  • Create and schedule weekly content focusing on district news, events, and relevant information.
  • Collaborate with members of the Home Office to build Ingenium’s brand presence for staff recruitment
  • Collaborate with the HR department on promoting open positions on social media platforms, such as LinkedIn and other marketing strategies
  • Videography and photography skills. Capture, editing, and post-production. Skills in Adobe Creative Suite.

Platform Diversification:

  • Identify and establish accounts on new communication platforms to broaden outreach.
  • Ensure consistent and professional branding across all platforms.

Timely Responses:

  • Monitor comments, questions, and messages on social media channels and respond promptly with accurate information or guidance.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional tone in all interactions.

Information Accuracy:

  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure published information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Proofread and fact-check content before posting.

Innovation in Communication:

  • Explore and implement innovative ways to communicate with parents, keeping up with the latest digital trends and technologies.
  • Recommend and execute strategies to improve engagement and reach.

School District Event Documentation:

  • Attend and document school and community events through photos, videos, and posts.
  • Create compelling content to showcase the district's activities and achievements.

Metrics and Reporting:

  • Identify essential metrics that demonstrate the success of the role.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of Digital Engagement efforts / campaigns.
  • Compile monthly reports to inform district and school leadership and the board about engagement metrics and progress.

Online Reputation Management:

  • Monitor and manage the school district's online reputation on platforms like Yelp, Google, etc.
  • Respond to both negative and positive reviews, engaging with reviewers to maintain a positive image.
  • Support initiatives to encourage families and parents to contribute positive reviews and counteract negative feedback.

Professional Development and Continuous Learning:

  • Actively seek out professional development opportunities to stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in digital communication and social media management.
  • Participate in relevant workshops, webinars, and conferences to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Regularly research and implement new tools and techniques to improve Digital Engagement strategies.
  • Share learnings and insights with the team to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the department.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent work experience is also welcome.
  • Proven experience in managing and expanding social media platforms for organizations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in social media management tools.
  • Creative thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Understanding of the education sector and school district operations is a plus
  • Bilingual; English/Spanish-speaking required


PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

  • Primarily indoors (remote working)
  • May work without natural light and in small spaces
  • Some exposure to childhood and other illness/diseases


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Lift 30 pounds using proper technique
  • Must have adequate vision to effectively review documents in varied formats i.e. paper and digital
  • Must have adequate hearing to respond to members and interact with the public
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
  • Ability to view and review a computer screen and use a laptop computer for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard
  • Ability to document information, typing and writing throughout the day
  • Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching
