PSEG is looking for a highly motivated, collaborative go-getter, who wants to help shape the brand and achieve goals by leveraging cutting-edge social media and digital strategies. You understand what worked yesterday won’t work today and are inspired by that challenge. You have an eye for detail, with the ability to step back and connect to the bigger picture.

The primary purpose of this role is to develop, design, plan and execute social media and digital campaigns across all existing and emerging platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, calendaring, creating, producing and posting compelling social and Digital Content that resonates with target audiences and aligns with our brand identity and business objectives. Leveraging your expertise in social and digital trends and best practices, our Digital Content Specialist will help take our social and digital program to the next level, curating content that fosters relationships, amplifies our brand and educates and influences our audience – driving awareness, engagement and business results.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, design, plan and execute social media and digital campaigns across all existing and emerging platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. Do this by: (1.) working closely with internal clients across the company to understand their goals, preferences and feedback, and incorporate them into the content creation processes; (2.) writing compelling and concise on-brand social-digital copy that captures attention, communicates key messages and encourages user interaction tailored for the target audience and target platform; (3.) Designing and creating graphics, videos, GIFs, animations and other multimedia elements that effectively communicate messages, uniquely tailored for the target audience and the target platform and work in close partnership with visual communications team to ensure all approvals, deliverables and deadlines are met for creative assets.
  • Maintain social media and Digital Content calendar across communications and integrated with marketing, ensuring a proper mix and priority of content on all channels daily
  • Monitor social listening for all channels, amplifying and engaging with earned content as appropriate, as well as responding to brand comments when appropriate (not customer service focused comments)
  • Various other activities associated with conceptualizing, calendaring, creating, producing and posting compelling social and Digital Content that resonates with target audiences and aligns with our brand identity and business objectives, including but not limited to execute on-site and live storytelling at events, announcements, corporate scenarios and more; executing storm/emergency messaging that may require weekends and after-hours work, and on-site and live storytelling; and staying current with social media trends, platform algorithm changes and industry best practices.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Media, Communications, Marketing or other related field, plus a minimum of 3 years related work experience;
  • (if no degree) 5 years related work experience and one or more relevant social media or digital certification, e.g. HubSpot, Hootsuite, Bootcamp or a college/university digital certification (e.g. Cornell)        

Other Basic Qualifications:

  • Passion for all things social and digital media
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Media, Communications, Marketing or other related field, plus a minimum of 3 years related work experience; or (if no degree) 5 years related work experience and one or more relevant social media or digital certification, e.g. HubSpot, Hootsuite, Bootcamp or a college/university digital certification (e.g. Cornell)
  • Proven professional experience as a Social Media Content Creator, Digital Content Specialist, Digital Marketer, or similar role, ideally within an advertising agency or creative environment, with a portfolio showcasing diverse content formats and styles
  • Strong multidisciplinary creative portfolio demonstrating proficiency in content creation, video production, photography, graphic design and copywriting
  • Strong understanding of an omnichannel approach and various social media platforms, their unique audiences and content requirements
  • Working knowledge of Canva and Photoshop, the full Adobe Creative Cloud; suite and video editing software is a plus
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft engaging and concise copy for different tones and styles.
  • Ability to creatively produce for all video formats, as well as static image-based content
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, effectively communicating and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Passionate and able to create high production to low production social media content 
  • Proficiency in native platform tools
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate
  • Ability to see stories and content in every experience to bring to life PSEG
  • Advanced knowledge of all social media platforms and trends in marketing and social media
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
