Digital Content Creative - School of the Arts
We are seeking a creative and ambitious Part timeDigital Content Creative who is ready to hit the ground
running in a fast-paced and collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-
oriented, self-motivated, proactive, resourceful, and able to coordinate multiple projects on tight deadlines
simultaneously. This person in this role works closely with the Administrative Affairs Coordinator and
department chairs and is responsible for the creation of digital and print content in addition to social
media management for the Fine Arts Group of departments (Art Education, Art History, Craft/Material
Studies, Painting + Printmaking, Sculpture + Extended Media).

Studies, Painting + Printmaking, Sculpture + Extended Media).
Position Details:
- Primary management of 5 departments' social media suites, with support from the
Administrative Affairs Coordinator. Advertise departmental activities and further the goals
of enhancing departmental reputation, fostering pride among current students, creating
lasting relationships with alumni, and expanding departmental networks to invite new
opportunities. - Includes sourcing imagery, designing graphics, writing and editing copy for
content, and cross-posting information relevant to the department from external
sources (e.g., sharing alumni events/achievements) - Preparing and engaging in daily correspondence with current students, faculty,
and alumni, and prospective students to develop content and field inquiries - Account follower growth through cross posting, hashtag usage, etc.
- Collect news from students, faculty, and alumni via email, social media, and web
- Maintain community news archive with documentation of student, faculty, and alumni
accomplishments - Write short features for social media and website highlighting student, alumni, and faculty
stories - Publish monthly community news summaries on departmental website
- Design of digital and print content: graphic design of promotional materials including
posters, social media, email, and web graphics for events such as visiting artists, guest
speakers, and other departmental activities - Support strategizing and developing promotional content and material for departmental
recruitment purposes - Coordinate with the Administrative Affairs Coordinator and appropriate colleagues in the
VCUarts Office of Communications to ensure consistency of brand use and messaging
- Preferred minimum of 2+ years managing social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook)
- Preferred minimum of 2+ years of graphic design experience
- Based in Richmond, VA, or willing to relocate
- Proficient at creative writing/copywriting
- Experience producing digital and print content in addition to curating and editing
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
- Familiarity with Google Sheets, Docs, and Drive
- Detail-oriented and able to coordinate multiple projects on tight deadlines simultaneously
- Proficient in photography including artwork documentation
- Proficient in WordPress
- Familiarity with Asana and MailChimp preferred
